Abstract: Digital image editing techniques are described as implemented by a depth-aware system of a computing device. The depth-aware system employs a depth-aware grid that defines constraints for depth-aware editing of digital images involving perspective. These techniques support automated editing in which changes to directional spacing, perspective arrangement, perspective movement, object redistribution, and so on are implemented in real time, which is not possible in conventional techniques involving object distortion. As such, these techniques improve operation of the computing device that implements these techniques as well as user efficiency in interacting with the computing device to perform digital image editing that involves perspective.

Abstract: Digital image object anchor point techniques are described that increase user efficiency in interacting with a user interface to create digital images. This is achieved through use of anchor points by the digital image editing system that are defined with respect to an actual geometry of the object. Further, filtering and prioritization techniques are also leveraged to promote real world utility and efficiency of these techniques as a balance between having too many and two few anchor points.

Abstract: In implementations of systems for generating candidate mirror snap points using determined axes of symmetry, a computing device implements a symmetry system to receive vector object data describing a set of points of a vector object. The symmetry system generates convex polygons that enclose the set of points and identifies a particular convex polygon that has a smallest area. A side of the particular convex polygon is determined as an axis of symmetry for the vector object. The symmetry system generates an indication for display in a user interface of a candidate snap point based on the axis of symmetry and a point of the set of points of the vector object.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for providing angular snapping guides to efficiently, accurately, and flexibly align user interactions and editing operations to existing angular linear segments of digital design objects in a digital design document. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems determine target angular linear segments for presentation of angular snapping guides by generating angular bin data structures based on orientation and signed distances of angular linear segments within the digital design document. Accordingly, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems can efficiently search these angular bin data structures based on angles and signed distances corresponding to user interactions. Further, in some embodiments, the disclosed systems identify a target angular linear segment from the angular bins and provide an angular snapping guide corresponding to the target angular linear segment during transformation of the digital design document.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for utilizing visual constraint guides to automatically transform digital design objects within a digital document based on transformation of intersecting visual constraint guides. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems generate visual constraint guides and identifies digital design objects intersecting the visual constraint guides. Further, the disclosed systems can receive user input transforming the visual constraint guide. In response, the disclosed systems can transform both the visual constraint guide and associated digital design objects based on the received transformation. More specifically, the design guide system can transform the digital design objects relative to the visual constraint guide while maintaining distribution and alignment constraints of the digital design objects relative to the visual constraint guide.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media that merge separate digital point text objects into a single merged digital text object while preserving the properties and original visual appearance associated with the digital text included therein. For example, the disclosed systems can determine point text character properties associated with the separate digital point text objects (e.g., rotations, baseline shifts, etc.). The disclosed systems can merge the separate digital point text objects into a single merged digital point text object and modify associated font character properties to reflect the determined point text character properties. Further, the disclosed systems can generate an area text object based on the merged digital point text object where the area text object includes the digital text and the font character properties.
