摘要:
Release layers, and particularly low surface tension aqueous solutions, such as fountain solutions, which function as release layers. These release layers are integrated into copying and printing machines, such as xerographic machines, multifunctional devices, color systems, and the like, wherein the release layers are specifically incorporated onto a hydrophilic roll material for contact leveling of UV curable gel inks.
摘要:
A method of controlling gloss of an image includes determining a desired gloss of an image; in an overcoat composition of at least one gellant, at least one curable monomer, at least one curable wax and optionally at least one photoinitiator, wherein the overcoat composition is curable upon exposure to radiation, setting the amount of at least one curable wax to include in the overcoat composition based on the determined desired gloss; preparing the overcoat composition to contain the set amount of the at least one curable wax; applying the overcoat composition over a substrate; and applying radiation to substantially cure the overcoat composition.
摘要:
Various embodiments provide a plurality of particles and a reimageable medium including the plurality of particles. The plurality of particles can include a binder; a photochromic material; and a light absorbing material. The photochromic material is capable of reversibly converting among a less colored form and a more colored form in response to a predetermined wavelength scope, where light absorption by the light absorbing material is less than about 50% of light absorption by the less colored form of the photochromic material.

A method of controlling gloss of an image includes applying an overcoat composition of at least one gellant, at least one curable monomer, at least one curable wax and optionally at least one photoinitiator over a substrate, wherein the overcoat composition is curable upon exposure to ultraviolet radiation; following the applying of the overcoat composition and prior to curing the overcoat composition by applying ultraviolet radiation, applying heat to heat the applied overcoat composition to a temperature of at least 35° C.; and subsequent to the applying heat, applying ultraviolet radiation to the overcoat composition to substantially cure the overcoat composition.

Disclosed herein is a xerographic print comprising a substrate with a toner-based image printed thereon, the printed substrate including low surface tension portions having a surface tension of no more than about 22 mN/m at 25 Deg. C. resulting in a surface tension gradient field on the substrate, the printed substrate being coated with a coating comprising at least one surfactant and a film-forming polymer, the coating having a liquid phase surface tension at 25 Deg. C. not exceeding the surface tension of the low surface tension portions of the printed substrate by more than about 2 mN/m, the coating having substantially no pinholes and being sufficiently resistant to permeation by the fuser oil to exhibit an effective absence of haze 24 hours after application. A system and a method of applying a substantially pinhole-free and haze-free coating substantially immediately after print fusing also are disclosed.
摘要:
Radiation curable overprint compositions containing a radiation curable oligomer/monomer, at least one photoinitiator, and at least one surfactant are disclosed. The overprint compositions are particularly well-suited for reducing or preventing document offset and for protecting xerographic images on substrates subjected to abrasives, heat, and/or sunlight since the compositions protect such images from cracking, fading, and smearing.

Ink jettable, radiation curable overprint compositions containing at least one radiation curable oligomer/monomer, at least one photoinitiator, and at least one surfactant are disclosed. The overprint compositions are particularly well-suited for protecting ink-based and toner-based images on substrates subjected to abrasives, heat, and/or sunlight since the compositions protect such images from smearing, cracking, and fading.
