摘要: A method, system and apparatus for dynamically alerting calling parties of menu structure changes in a telephone prompting system. In a telephone prompting system, a menu structure change alert method can include determining whether a menu structure change has occurred for the telephone prompting system in response to the receipt of an incoming call from a calling party. Subsequently, the calling party can be selectively alerted of the menu structure change. In this regard, an alert message can be played to the calling party.

摘要: A vehicle ignition interlock system includes a breath analyzer and a controller operably connected to the breath analyzer and to an ignition system of the vehicle. The breath analyzer detects breath alcohol level of a vehicle operator and prevents vehicle ignition if a breath alcohol level is greater than or equal to a threshold value. The controller requires the vehicle operator to periodically take breath analyzer “retests” after vehicle ignition in order to allow vehicle operation to continue. The breath analyzer includes first and second alcohol sensors. The second alcohol sensor is a backup for the first alcohol sensor and becomes operational if the first alcohol sensor malfunctions. The first or second alcohol sensors may be a mouth contamination sensor that distinguishes between mouth contaminants and alcohol contained within a deep lung breath sample. The system also includes sensors configured to detect impact (abuse) and vehicle motion.

摘要: A method of generating language model statistics for a new word added to a language model incorporating at least one class file containing contextually related words. The method can include the following steps: First, language model statistics can be computed based on references to at least one incorporated class file. Second, a new word can be substituted for each reference to a selected class file. Additionally, the language model statistics can be re-computed based on the new word having been substituted for the reference. Third, the re-computed language model statistics can be displayed in a user interface and modifications can be accepted to the re-computed language model statistics through the user interface. Fourth, the language model statistics can be further re-computed based on the modifications. In consequence, the language model statistics are re-computed for the new word without introducing contextual inaccuracies in the language model.

摘要: An assembly for rapidly filing bathtubs, whirlpools, spas, washing machine drums and the like includes a basin, water storage tank(s) (such as hot and cold water storage tanks), and a system for controlling the filling of the basin from the tank(s). When it is desired to supply water to the basin, this is expedited by placing the tank(s) above the basin, using connecting piping with extra large area, using a pressure pump, and/or providing extra large delivery ports. The tank(s) are dedicated to the assembly, and preferably are closely adjacent thereto. Controls are provided to avoid excess weight gathering adjacent the basin.

摘要: A system and method for automatically providing quality assurance for user enrollment in a recognition system. Advantageously, the quality a new enrollment (i.e., a newly trained user-dependent prototype) is assessed before the new enrollment is accepted in place of a current enrollment. This quality check is performed by decoding stored user test data using the new enrollment, comparing the decoding results of the new enrollment to the known script used to generate the test data to obtain an accuracy score for the new enrollment, and then comparing the accuracy score for the new enrollment with an accuracy score of a previous qualified enrollment (or, in the case where there is no previous, qualified enrollment, to the accuracy of the speaker independent model). If the decoding results of the new enrollment are acceptable, the new enrollment will be used for recognition; otherwise it will be rejected and discarded.

摘要: A method for discriminating between an instance of a voice command and an instance of speech dictation can include identifying a focus point in a user interface; defining a surrounding region about the focus point; identifying user interface objects in the surrounding region; further identifying among the identified user interface objects those user interface objects which are configured to accept speech dictated text and those user interface objects which are not configured to accept speech dictated text; computing a probability based upon those user interface objects which have been further identified as being configured to accept speech dictated text and those user interface objects which have been further identified as not being configured to accept speech dictated text; receiving speech input; and, biasing a determination of whether the speech input is a voice command or speech dictation based upon the computed probability. Additionally, the method can include identifying a focus point outside of the user interface; and, biasing a determination of whether the speech input is a voice command or speech dictation based upon a default probability.

摘要: A method of proofreading and correcting dictated text contained in an electronic document comprises the steps of: selecting proofreading criteria for identifying textual errors contained in the electronic document; playing back each word contained in the electronic document; and, marking as a textual error each played back word in nonconformity with at least one of the proofreading criteria. The method can further comprise the step of editing each the marked textual error identified in the marking step. In particular, the editing step can include reviewing each the marked textual error identified in the marking step; accepting user specified changes to each marked textual error reviewed in the reviewing step; and, unmarking each marked textual error corrected by the user in the accepting step. Also, the reviewing step can include highlighting each the word in the electronic document corresponding to the marked textual error marked in the marking step; and, displaying an explanation for each marked textual error in a user interface. Moreover, the reviewing step can further include suggesting a recommended change to the marked textual error; displaying the recommended change in the user interface; and, accepting a user specified preference to substitute the recommended change for the marked textual error.

摘要: A method and system for use with a computer speech recognition system to efficiently identify valid system commands to users. The method involves a series of steps including: receiving data representative of a speech recognition system user input; comparing the data to a grammar defined for the speech recognition system to determine whether the data is representative of a user input which is a valid system command; and notifying the user as to whether the data is representative of a valid system command. The process can also involve the additional steps of determining a functional expression for the data; and comparing the functional expression to a set of all functional expressions permitted in the grammar to identify any alternate user inputs for producing the functional expression.

摘要: A method and system efficiently identifies voice commands for a user of a speech recognition system. The method involves a series of steps including: receiving input from a user; monitoring the computer system to log system events and ascertain a current system state; predicting a probable next event according to the current system state and logged events; and identifying acceptable voice commands to perform the next event. The system events include commands, system control activities, timed activities, and application activation. These events are statistically analyzed in light of the current system state to determine the probable next event. The voice commands for performing the probable next event are displayed to the user.

摘要: A method for automatically generating a minimal set of test phrases for testing a natural commands grammar includes the steps of selecting a line of text in the natural commands grammar; forming a test phrase for the selected line of text; detecting a previous inclusion of the test phrase in the minimal set of test phrases; and, adding the test phrase to the minimal set of test phrases only if the test phrase has not been detected as having been previously included in the minimal set of test phrases in the detecting step.
