摘要: A bit-rate discrimination circuit for determining which bit-rate an input signal has, a first bit-rate or a second bit-rate higher than the first bit-rate, is disclosed. The circuit is characterized by a frequency selection unit configured to filter out a signal having the second bit-rate, and allow at least a fraction of the low frequency component of a signal having the first bit-rate to pass through; a determination unit configured to determine whether the fraction of the low frequency component of the signal having the first bit-rate has passed through said frequency selection unit; a smoothing unit configured to smooth the output of said determination unit; and a level conversion unit configured to convert the output of said smoothing unit to a logic level. According to the above arrangements, the bit-rate of the input signal can be discriminated based on the low frequency component thereof.

摘要: A data base retrieval system includes a memory for storing vicinity feature values of data records as search (or retrieval) objects of the data records. The vicinity feature values indicate a correspondence between data characters of the data records which are in the same vicinity. A searching device obtains matching degrees between a vicinity feature value of a search (or retrieval) key and the vicinity feature values of the search objects of the data records. Data record numbers are output arranged in a descending order of the matching degrees. Since phase information of data (position information indicating the position of a search key in a record) as a factor for prolonging the search time upon execution of full-record direct searching is abstracted by a vicinity feature value calculation, a high-speed and fuzzy searching operation can be performed so that the search time depends only on the length of the search key information, and does not depend on the volume of data.

摘要: A method of producing a silver halide emulsion and a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing the emulsion are disclosed. The silver halide emulsion comprises light-sensitive silver halide grains containing at least one of first silver halide phases and at least one of second silver halide phases. The method comprises the steps of (a) forming the first silver halide phases in the presence of substantially one kind of first fine silver halide grains, said first silver halide phases having a silver halide composition different from that of the first fine silver halide grains, and (b) forming the second silver halide phases by supplying second fine silver halide grains having a solubility product higher than that of the first fine silver halide grains.

摘要: A dobby loom provided with up-and-down movement instruction apparatus which is controlled to two positions, operation and non-operation positions, by programmed magnetically-driven apparatus and wherein the instruction apparatus decides up-and-down movements of a held frame according to the two operation and non-operation positions. The magnetically-driven apparatus includes a magnet core and a movable lever, movable to a first position to select one of the operation and nonoperation positions and to a second position to select the other of the operation and nonoperation positions. The movement of the movable lever is controlled by magnetic force selectably provided between the magnetic core and the movable lever. A plate of nonmagnetic material is interposed between the magnet core and the movable lever.
