摘要: If an optical switch unit configuring an optical switch is implemented by a three-stage circuit, optical amplifiers are arranged on the input and output sides of an optical space switch in a first stage, and the optical space switch and the optical amplifiers on both of the input and output sides are used as an expansion unit for expanding a switching capacity. Similarly, optical amplifiers are arranged on input and output sides of an optical space switch in a third stage, and the optical space switch and the optical amplifiers on both of the input and output sides are used as an expansion unit for expanding a switching capacity. Accordingly, there is no need to arrange extra optical amplifiers even at an initial setting when only part of a maximum switching capacity is used, thereby reducing an initial investment.

摘要: Provided is a method that, in the case of managing areas of a non-volatile memory of an information recording module by a file system, increases the speed of processing for writing file data and file system management information, and furthermore prevents a decrease in the rewriting lifetime of the non-volatile memory. The information recording module (2) is provided with a page cache control unit (217) that stores page cache information (224) in the non-volatile memory (22) of the information recording module (2) and performs control such that a specific physical block is used as a cache when writing small-sized data. Also, an access module (1) is provided with a page cache information setting unit (104) that sets information necessary for page cache control in the information recording module (2). The combination of the access module (1) and the information recording module (2) prevents the execution of needless saving process with use of page caching when writing small-sized data, thereby increasing the speed of writing processing.

摘要: A data processing apparatus is capable of playing back contents stored in a specified area in a recording medium. The recording medium stores content data and management information for managing the content data. When playing back a content which is managed by the management information on the recording medium but of which entity data is not present in the specified area of the recording medium, the data processing apparatus, searches, for the content, the other area of the recording medium with a search section. When the corresponding content is found, the link information selling section sets the link information (symbolic link, shortcut, etc.) on the recording medium so that the content can be accessed with the management information.

摘要: In an optical signal level control apparatus used in a WDM system, the amount of circuitry per wavelength is reduced. Optical power level is detected on the output side of a variable optical attenuator, and the amount of attenuation in the variable optical attenuator is adjusted so that the output level becomes equal to a constant value L1. At this time, if the detected level is lower than a threshold value Th0 or Th-d, it is determined that a signal off condition has occurred, and the amount of attenuation is set to a constant value A1. The amount of attenuation, A1, is chosen to be sufficiently larger than the amount of attenuation used in the output level constant control but small enough to be able to detect the restoration of the signal. When the amount of attenuation is being held at the constant value A1, if the output level is restored to a level higher than the threshold value Th0 or Th1 (Th1
