摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit and a plate. The image forming unit is configured to be detachable from the image forming apparatus. The image forming unit includes a convex portion. The plate includes a hole configured to receive the convex portion. The image forming unit further includes a lever which is provided at a front side of a unit case of the image forming unit and is configured to move between a working position and a storing position. When the lever is moved from the storing position to the working position, the convex portion is removed from the hole.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an endless transfer member and a plurality of image forming units. The endless transfer member is arranged at a transverse position in the image forming apparatus, and has a circulatory rotating surface declining at a predetermined angle to a horizontal plane. Each of the plurality of image forming units includes a first surface facing the endless transfer member and a second surface opposite to the first surface and angled in a similar direction to the endless transfer member. The plurality of image forming units perform an image forming operation and are arranged next to one another facing the endless transfer member such that, in any two adjacent image forming units of the plurality of image forming units, one of the any two adjacent image forming units has a portion overhanging the other one of the any two adjacent image forming units.

摘要： An image forming device which allows reducing a linear velocity ratio of a developing roller against a sensitive body, which enables a pole pitch of a magnetic field generating layer to be miniaturized, and which generates a uniform and adequately thick toner layer on the developing roller. A toner regulating element formed by a sheet metal material having elasticity and non-magnetic characteristics elastically contacts a surface of the developing roller. The developing roller has an elastic body layer and a magnetic field generating layer having a minute pole pitch. The toner regulating elements serves to regulate a thickness of the toner layer without vibration induced from the pole pitch of the magnetic field generating layer. Thus, the toner layer can be uniform and of an adequate thickness, and reducing the linear velocity ratio of the developing roller against the sensitive body does not generate any drawbacks.

摘要： A developing device which includes a first toner transporting roller, a second toner transporting roller to which toner is transported from the first toner transporting roller and an image bearing member such as a photoconductive drum or belt. Seals are located between the circumferential ends of one of the toner transporting rollers and a bottom portion of a toner hopper. When the seals are between the bottom of toner hopper and the first toner transporting roller, the first toner transporting roller is longer than the second toner transporting roller and the circumferential portions of the first toner transporting roller which contact the seals do not contact the second toner transporting roller. Alternatively, when the seals are between the bottom of toner hopper and the second toner transporting roller, the second toner transporting roller is longer than the first toner transporting roller and the circumferential portions of the second toner transporting roller which contact the seals do not contact the first toner transporting roller. Additionally, when the seals contact the second toner transporting roller, side seals may be placed against the ends of the first toner transporting roller. In both of these arrangements, the length of the second toner transporting roller is shorter than a length of an effective area of a photoconductive layer on the image bearing member.
