Abstract:
A first cartridge and a second cartridge are detachably mounted in a housing of the image-forming device. The first cartridge is formed thicker than the second cartridge in a thickness direction orthogonal to a mounting direction of the first and second cartridges. The housing has a cartridge-accommodating section that accommodates the first and second cartridges. The cartridge-accommodating section includes first and second accommodating sections that are disposed continuously along the mounting direction and that are partly displaced with respect to each other in the thickness direction. The second accommodating section is disposed upstream of the first accommodating section with respect to the mounting direction and is formed thicker than the first cartridge and thinner than both the first and second cartridges together when the first and second cartridges are accommodated in the cartridge-accommodating section. The first accommodating section is formed thicker than the first and second cartridges together when the first and second cartridges are accommodated in the cartridge-accommodating section.
Abstract:
A developing agent container includes a housing having a feeding element that feeds a developing agent and a sealing element made of felt of polyester-base fibers to prevent toner leakage from both ends of a developing roller with respect to an axial direction when mounted in position. The sealing element may be made of a fabric formed with weaving seams. Assembling of the developing agent container includes placing the sealing element at an end of the inside of the housing and placing the feeding element on the sealing element in a direction that the feeding element feeds the developing agent.
Abstract:
A device for preventing contamination of a print sheet and the reduction in the effectiveness of a scorotron type charger by free toner and paper particles. The device includes a paper dust eliminator extending the length of a photosensitive member and a wiping mechanism at each end of the photosensitive member for removing free toner that has accumulated there. Further, a partition that separates the developing section from the charger can be provided to further reduce free toner from attaching to the charger.
Abstract:
A layer thickness regulating blade 64 has a plate spring 64b and a pressing number 64a fixed thereto. The plate spring 64b is formed longer than the pressing member 64a so that both ends of the plate spring 64b are exposed. A front surface resilient foam seal 112 made from sponge is attached to the exposed portions, in contact with sides of the pressing member 64a. Further, a Teflon™ film 113 is attached on the plate spring 64b so as to cover the front surface resilient foam seal 112. A sponge side seal 111 is adhered to the rear surface of the plate spring 64b. A sponge side seal 107 is adhered to the developing case 51 at a position that confronts the blade side seal 111. An end seal 106 is adhered across a step portion E of the developing case 51 and the upper end of the base seal 104, and can compressing deform with the blade side seal 111 and the upper side seal 107.
Abstract:
A developing device for developing a latent static-electric image into a visible image from developer. Various members for preventing toner leaks are attached to the developing case. A lower-edge leak prevention member is attached below the developer bearing body. End leak prevention members are attached on either side of the lower-edge leak prevention member, near lengthwise ends of a developer bearing body. Portions of the developing case where the end leak prevention members are attached, are indented lower than the portion where the lower-edge leak prevention member is attached. Resilient foam members are attached on the same surface as the lower-edge leak prevention member, with one side surface in contact with one side surface of the corresponding end leak prevention member.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a cartridge and a casing. The cartridge includes a photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a developing frame, and a drum frame. The developing frame is movable between a contact position and a separated position. A separating member provided on the drum frame acts on the developing frame, so that a reaction force is exerted in a reaction force direction. The casing includes a positioning member, an urging member, and a separation pressing member. The positioning member has a first surface and a second surface. The urging member is configured to urge an end portion of the photosensitive drum toward the positioning member in an urging direction. The first surface is configured to support the end portion at a position downstream of the urging direction. The second surface is configured to support the end portion at a portion downstream of the reaction force direction.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus and a cartridge to be used therein. The image forming apparatus includes a main casing, a CPU, and a main electrode. The cartridge accommodating therein toner is attachable to and detachable from the main casing, and has a cartridge electrode electrically connectable to the main electrode, a moving member and a pressure member. The CPU is configured to judge assembly or non-assembly of the cartridge with respect to the main casing and to judge whether or not the assembled cartridge is a new cartridge. The moving member is movable by a predetermined moving amount to permit the pressure member to be movable. The cartridge electrode is movable in accordance with the movement of the pressure member. As a result of a movement of the main electrode in accordance with the movement of the cartridge electrode, the CPU determines that the assembled cartridge is a new cartridge.
Abstract:
An image-forming device includes: a main body; a plurality of developer cartridges; a belt; a holder; and a plurality of urging members. Each developer cartridge has a photosensitive drum. The belt is configured to contact the photosensitive drums of the developer cartridges. The holder is configured to move between a position inside the main body and a position outside the main body and to hold the developer cartridges such that the developer cartridges are arranged in a row along a first direction. The plurality of urging members are configured to urge the developer cartridges to cause the photosensitive drums to contact the belt when the holder is at the position inside the main body.
Abstract:
An image forming device includes a plurality of image bearing members, a plurality of developing units, a plurality of toner cartridges, a plurality of shutter driving members, a driving force generating member that generates a driving force, and a driving force transmitting mechanism that transmits the driving force to the shutter driving members. Each toner cartridge includes a casing formed with an opening through which toner accommodated in the casing is supplied to the corresponding developing unit and a shutter movable between an opening position at which the shutter opens the opening and a closing position at which the shutter closes the opening. Each of the shutter driving members moves the corresponding shutter between the opening position and the closing position when supplied with the driving force.
Abstract:
A photosensitive member cartridge includes first and second side walls which rotatably support end portions of the photosensitive member in an axial direction of the photosensitive member, a rotating body disposed between the first side wall and the second side wall to face the photosensitive member, and a cartridge electrode which extends in the axial direction and disposed on the first side wall to be movable in the axial direction, and contacts the rotating body to supply electric power to the rotating body. The cartridge electrode includes a contact portion which contacts an end surface of the rotating body in the axial direction. The first side wall includes an abutting portion which abuts on the end surface of the rotating body. The cartridge electrode is configured such that the first contact portion is movable further than the abutting portion in the axial direction.
