Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for determining transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state are provided. One method may include detecting, by a user equipment, one or more downlink control information (DCIs), and determining, by the user equipment, at least one of the one or more DCIs. Acknowledgement information for the determined at least one of the one or more DCIs is transmitted in a same symbol, in a same slot or in a same uplink channel. The method may also include determining, by the user equipment, a first TCI state indicated in a first DCI, where the first DCI is latest in time among the determined at least one of the one or more DCIs, and applying, by the user equipment, the first TCI state.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for fast downlink beam switching assumptions related to quasi-colocation are provided. For example, a method can include determining whether a reported downlink reference signal corresponds to a reference signal, based on a spatial reception parameter corresponding to channel conditions and supporting beamforming, with a resource set that is configured to a user equipment with a tracking reference signal parameter. The method can also include interpreting a downlink reception parameter based on the determination regarding the reported downlink reference signal. The method can further include controlling at least a receive beam or a transmit beam of the user equipment based on the interpretation of the downlink transmission configuration indicator state.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for beam maintenance in a radio access network, in particular, through random access preamble transmission for beam maintenance. A terminal device receives, from a network device, a resource configuration for contention-free random access. The resource configuration indicates a plurality of CFRA resources each associated with a respective synchronization signal and physical broadcast channel block index or channel state information reference signal index. The plurality of CFRA resources are applicable for timing advance acquiring in a target network device. The terminal device transmits, to the target network device, one or more CFRA physical random access channels based on the resource configuration. In this way, beam maintenance may be performed based on an SSB index or CSI-RS index associated with one of the transmitted CFRA PRACH(s) before a cell switch command or a random access response.
