摘要: Systems, methods and media for screening member messages in an instant messaging environment are disclosed. In one embodiment, chat messages are stored as communications requests in a queue. A user-specified chat limit determines the maximum number of chats that may be taking place concurrently. When the chat limit is reached, additional requests received are placed in the queue, waiting to be processed. When a chat terminates, a next-out request is received from the queue and processed. Also, a user may specify a priority for each of a plurality of members in a communications network. A request from a user with special priority may be advanced to the head of the queue to be processed immediately.

摘要: A two-dimensional sensor array of non-uniformly spaced sensors for using in digitizing images and avoiding moiré patterns within those images. The non-uniform distribution of the sensors allows the array to avoid having an inherent “frequency” that may interfere with details or harmonics present in the image source, thereby eliminating or reducing the occurrence of moiré patterns and the need for application of image processing to remove moiré patterns.

摘要: A client-server arrangement for camera viewing using digital cameras across a computer network. A camera server controls a motorized gimbal which determines the viewing angles of a set of cameras according to signals from a client computer which is equipped with an eye movement tracking system. Movements of the viewer's eyes result in changes in viewing angle of the remote cameras. A high resolution foveal field of view image centered on the user's point of interest is captured and overlaid on a lower resolution full filed of view image, rendering a combined image having a low resolution peripheral area and a high resolution foveal area, and being significantly reduced in size compared to a full resolution, full field of view image. This combined image is transmitted to the client for display to the user.

摘要: A method and implementing computer system are provided for enabling management of restricted parking spaces for vehicles. In an example, a sensing system senses the presence of vehicles in predetermined parking spaces and stores that information for subsequent processing. Particular parking restrictions, or limited parking indicia, for given parking spaces are displayed and viewable to vehicle operators. The posted parking restriction indicia are selectively changeable to accommodate various parking demand situations. The displayed limited parking indicia may be changed from one type of limited parking to other types of limited (or unlimited) parking from a remote server location, either selectively by an administrator or in accordance with a stored parking authorization plan or schedule. Vehicles are scanned for proper authorization for predetermined types of parking spaces. Alarms or other notification processes are implemented to provide notification of unauthorized vehicles which are parked in restricted parking spaces.

摘要: Systems, methods and media for awarding credits based on provided usage information are disclosed. More particularly, hardware and/or software for collecting and disseminating usage information related to electronic documents and for awarding usage credits to users in exchange for providing usage information are disclosed. Embodiments include receiving an indication of the usage of an electronic document by a user and aggregating the received usage indication for the document with usage indications relating to other users. Embodiments may also include creating document utilization information for the electronic document based on the aggregated usage indications and awarding usage credit to the user based on the user's providing statistics on the usage of the electronic document. Further embodiments may include transmitting an indication of the awarded usage credit to the user and receiving a request to use the usage credits.

摘要: The present invention allows the viewer of a document to select certain portions of an encrypted document for decryption and optionally re-encryption while other portions of the document remain encrypted or as originally created. In this decryption process, the user would use a standard word processing editor technique to highlight (or swipe) portions of a document that the user desires to decrypt. The highlighted area would then be ‘tagged’ with a surrounding attribute indicating that the highlighted area is to be decrypted. This process is similar to the existing word processor capability to highlight areas on a document and then assign rich text attributes, such as BOLD, ITALICS, etc., to those areas.

摘要: A method for utilizing the Monte Carlo method to determine the most efficient arrangement of schedulers for a grid using a Scheduler Optimization Program (SOP). The SOP obtains the schedulers and scheduler timetable from memory and randomly selects a time period and scheduler to analyze. The SOP then uses the selected scheduler to modify the scheduler timetable. The SOP then runs the ROI calculator to obtain a ROI property for the modified timetable. If the ROI property for the modified timetable is greater than the ROI property for the original scheduler timetable, the SOP replaces the scheduler timetable with the modified timetable.
