Abstract: Bioptic barcode readers are disclosed herein. An example bioptic barcode reader includes an upper housing and a lower housing secured directly to the upper housing, the lower housing and the upper housing defining an interior region. Abstract: Multiple field of view (FOV) systems are disclosed herein. An example system includes a bioptic barcode reader having a target imaging region. The bioptic barcode reader includes at least one imager having a first FOV and a second FOV and is configured to capture an image of a target object from each FOV. The example system includes one or more processors configured to receive the images and a trained object recognition model stored in memory communicatively coupled to the one or more processors. The memory includes instructions that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to analyze the images to identify at least a portion of a barcode and one or more features associated with the target object. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to determine a target object identification probability and to determine whether a predicted product identifies the target object.

Abstract: An example bioptic barcode reader includes an imaging assembly, first illumination assembly, and second illumination assembly. No more than 10% of a first mirror is visible within a boundary of a second imaging FOV of the imaging assembly. An upper edge of an aperture in an upper housing portion is outside a boundary of a first illumination FOV of the first illumination assembly. All or substantially all light rays from the second illumination assembly that pass through a horizontal window in a lower housing portion form respective angles relative to horizontal that are equal to or less than a second angle formed between a normal line of the first mirror and horizontal.

An example barcode reader includes a housing and a window positioned within the housing, an imaging sensor and second imaging sensor positioned within the housing, and a transflective mirror positioned within the housing and in a path of a field-of-view of the imaging sensor. The field-of-view of the imaging sensor passes through the transflective mirror and out the window with the transflective mirror in a transmissive state and the field-of-view of the second imaging sensor is reflected off of the transflective mirror and out the window with the transflective mirror in a reflective state.

Abstract: A barcode reader having lower and upper housings, a weigh platter in the lower housing, and an off-platter detection assembly. The weigh platter has a proximal edge adjacent the upper housing, a first lateral edge, and a distal edge. The off-platter detection assembly comprises an off-platter indication system having a plurality of linearly aligned light sources, each light source representing a location along the first lateral edge, and controller operatively coupled to the plurality of light sources. Abstract: A weigh platter assembly includes a weigh platter and a parallax based off-platter detection assembly having a light emission assembly, a light detection assembly, and a controller. The light emission assembly has a light source to emit a light beam along a lateral edge of the weigh platter. The light detection assembly detects at least a portion of the light beam reflected from an object extending across the light beam and includes a sensor offset from the light source and an aperture positioned in front of the sensor and configured to limit a field of view of the sensor along the lateral edge between proximal and distal edges of the weigh platter. The controller is configured to provide a first signal in response to a first value received from the sensor and to provide a second signal, different from the first signal, in response to a second value.
