    摘要: A vessel valve including a sleeve or ring having a central opening and openable and closeable flap elements intended to allow the flow of blood through the central opening in one direction, whereas the flap elements are designed as circle segments, and the sector angle is 360 ⁢ ° n wherein n is a number of circle segments and is equal to 3, 4, 5 or 6, and wherein each flap element at its outer edge is pivotably connected to an inwardly directed flange on the inside of the ring so that in a closed position they co-operate to form a sealing body and in an open position they allow free passage of blood. The ring is composed of n sections, whose pair-wise juxtaposed ends form recesses in the flange accommodating hinge elements which are arranged in the middle of the outer edge of each of the flap elements and which with assembled sections are locked by undercutting; and a method for the manufacture of such vessel valve.

      摘要: The present invention relates to noval design of mechanical valve prostheses and manufacturing methods. A series of prosthetic valves with novel design and a unique manufacturing approach are disclosed. These devices possess unique designs and are made of nanostructurely engineered biomaterial. In addition, a novel manufacturing approach will be used to produce these devices because the convention technique is incapable of fabricating the devices due to the small size, design requirements and material properties restrain. Furthermore, it provides the convenience and thus low cost in manufacturing. The devices are particularly but not exclusively useful in human circulation system to restore the normal functions.

Occluders are configured to rotate about opposed occluder ends between an open position and a closed position. The minor radius arcs cooperate with the occluders to allow the occluders to block blood flow through lumen when in a closed position yet provide an increased lumen when the occluders are in an open position.

      摘要: The present invention relates to a heart valve prosthesis having an annular body with a pair of flanges, and a closing element in the form of two or three flaps mounted through bearings into the body's recesses with freedom to be rotated. The annular body has a constant height on a greater portion of a ring circle, and a number of ledges equal to that of the flaps. The ledges are provided with flap rotation limiters. The flaps have ascending and descending surfaces oriented to the direct and reverse flow of blood, a side edge and an edge for joining the other flap. The descending surface of a flap is flat and the ascending surface thereof is spherically concave. The flaps have the minimal thickness on an axis of symmetry at the joining edge. The axes of rotation of the three flap embodiment are arranged relative to each other at an angle of 60° thereby to form the sides of an equilateral triangle. For the valve with two flaps the flange facing the direct flow of blood is thickened. Recesses for bearings enter into the thickened flange with the recesses having a lateral cylindrical surface and a concave bottom.

Due to the uniform dimension of a rectangle, the leaflets are hinged at the periphery of the orifice, and present a single large central flow region to the blood when opened. The base provides several means of constraining the leaflet rotation during opening and closing.

A method of installing a heart valve within a patient utilizing the surgical stapler is also disclosed.

      摘要: A prosthesis for use in a human heart as a valve that reduces or eliminates blood stagnation, and therefore, the possibility of thrombosis while increasing available blood flow area through the artificial heart valve without using hinges which can become inoperable due to interaction with blood and human tissue. The artificial heart valve includes a supporting ring, a pair of radially-disposed supporting arms having specially designed and support heads of a particular shape and a pair of semi-circular valve plates that hang from the support arm and engage the support arm heads. The valve plates each include a specially designed slot that receives the support arm head which allows movement of each of the valve plates during operation of the valve to prevent accumulation of human tissue from blocking the operation of the valve. Also, the support ring aperture, in conjunction with the support ring and the mounting of the valve plates has a configuration that aids in blood flow through the valve thereby preventing stagnation and the possibility of thrombosis.

      摘要: A heart valve prosthesis having improved flow characteristics. A heart valve prosthesis includes a valve body and a pair of leaflet occluders. The valve body includes an interior surface that defines a central passage for blood flow. The pair of leaflet occluders are pivotably mounted in the passage via ears or tabs that are received in recesses formed in the interior surface that defines the central passage. The recesses are formed with sloped sidewalls to improve the blood flow therethrough. The recesses are also formed such that the leaflet occluder ears act against at least two surfaces that limit the motion of the leaflet occluder to provide a more stable movement that is less damaging to blood cells.
