摘要:
A paper sheet finishing system includes a sheet guiding mechanism having nip rollers to transport a sheet forward, at least one diverter gate through which the sheet passes when the at least one diverter gate is open, and a temporary compiler to support the sheet after the sheet passes the at least one diverter gate, a diverter member to travel in conjunction with the at least one diverter gate, and at least one rear suppressor member connected to the diverter member to push a trailing edge of the sheet forward and pitch a leading edge of the sheet downward after the sheet controllably descends past the temporary compiler with reduced flutter and improved positioning during compilation of the sheets.

A sheet treating apparatus including the first intermediate stacking portion for hitting an edge of a sheet in a transport direction against a wall to align the sheet, a pair of delivery rollers for delivering the sheet from the first intermediate stacking portion, the second intermediate stacking portion for carrying-in and supporting the sheet downstream of the pair of delivery rollers in the transport direction and aligning edges of the sheet in a cross direction perpendicular to the transport direction, a sheet stacking portion located below the second intermediate stacking portion in the gravitational direction, and a full load detecting unit for detecting full load of sheets on the sheet stacking portion, in which the full load detecting unit contacts an upper surface of sheets on the sheet stacking portion with a full load detecting flag, which has a pivotal fulcrum in a higher position than that of the pair of delivery rollers to detect a height of the upper surface, and does not perform full load detection of sheets during a sheet treatment in the intermediate stacking portion.

A stacker assembly receives signatures. A jogger assembly engages signatures supported by the stacker assembly to align edge portions of the signatures. A turntable receives the signatures from the stacker assembly and rotates the signatures to offset relatively thick folded edge portions of the signatures. A conveyor assembly pushes a stack of signatures from the turntable to a tying station in a strapper assembly. The conveyor assembly presses a leading end portion of a stack of signatures against registration surfaces in the strapper assembly to position the main stack of signatures relative to the tying station. A pusher element presses against a trailing end of the stack of signatures to press a leading end of the stack of signatures against the registration surfaces in the strapper assembly and to ensure that the trailing edge portions of the signatures are aligned. The strapper assembly is operable to tie a band around the stack of signatures. The conveyor assembly is then operated to push the bound stack of signatures away from the strapper assembly.

A stacker assembly receives signatures and supports the signatures as an intermediate stack is formed. A jogger assembly engages an intermediate stack supported by the stacker assembly to accurately align edge portions of the signatures. The stacks of signatures are deposited onto a turntable to form a main stack. The turntable rotates the main stack to offset relatively thick folded edge portions of signatures. The stacker assembly includes a plurality of slats which are moved along a first continuous circuitous path by a first drive assembly. The stacker assembly also includes a plurality of slats which are moved along a second continuous circuitous path by a second drive assembly. The drive assemblies move the slats along the continuous circuitous paths with the longitudinal axes of the slats horizontal and parallel. The jogger assembly has jogger plates which extend into central portions of the continuous circuitous paths along which the slats are moved by the drive assemblies.

A conveyor accumulates collapsed, flexible flat tubes into roughly aligned stacks which are transferred to a collator comprising an inclined tray-like receptacle mounted for multidirectional movement. The receptacle is simultaneously rotated and pivoted from a loading station to a discharge station while being rapidly reciprocated to vibrate the roughly stacked tubes. The combined effects of gravity and vibration urge the tubes to shift relative to each other into engagement with adjacent sidewalls of the tray to align the stack. A pallet mounted for multidirectional movement at the discharge station is automatically indexed to allow the aligned stacks to be deposited at preselected locations on the pallet.

Disclosed herein is a device for automatically forming piles out of strips exiting from a machine on which the said strips are produced, comprising at the top, a pair of parallel rods placed downstream with respect to the said cutting device, and supported at their ends by corresponding brackets connected to the base frame, the said rods being provided centrally with a support member for sustaining the packs of strips in a horizontal position and able to rotate, in opposite directions, in order to release the pack of strips which, once freed, falls, suitably guided, on to a collection pallet placed on a driven conveyor, located downstream of the machine, which continues to operate until a number of vertical piles of strips have been formed on the pallet, after which the pallet is sent towards a discharge station.
