    摘要： In a process cartridge detachable from an image forming apparatus, presssure contact between a charging member, and an image bearing member for bearing an image can be released. Hence, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of traces caused by pressure, creep, and contamination in the image bearing member and the charging member. In addition, by arranging so that the process cartridge cannot be mounted in the image forming apparatus in a state in which the pressure contact between the charging member and the image bearing member is released, failure in charging on the image bearing member by the charging member can be prevented.

    摘要： A transfer unit has a plastic end block at each end. The end block includes a bearing for supporting an auxiliary roller, and an arm having at its end portion a pivot received by a lower casing. The bearing and the arm are formed integrally with the end block. A leaf spring located under the transfer unit supports it along with the roller in movable relationship around the pivot. When an upper casing is shut down, a photoreceptor drum supported in the upper casing pushes down the transfer unit against the elastic force of the leaf spring. Since the positions of the transfer unit and the roller are determined with respect to the photoreceptor drum, good duplicativity can be obtained. In this state, a cylindrical spacer serves to secure a predetermined space between the photoreceptor drum and the auxiliary roller.

An image-forming device is installed in the body of the apparatus. The device is removable from the body of the apparatus along the corona wire. The apparatus further includes a cleaning device that is attached to the end portion of the image-forming device opposite to the direction in which the image-forming device is pulled out of the body of the apparatus. The cleaning device touching the corona wire through the charging opening when the image-forming device moves along the corona wire and separating from the corona wire when the image-forming device is installed into the body of the apparatus.

When the corona discharging device or the cartridge is to be mounted in the image forming apparatus, and when the cleaner is not positioned at a predetermined position in the corona discharging device or at a predetermined position in the cartridge, a stopper provided on the image forming apparatus side is brought into engagement with the cleaner to thereby relatively move the cleaner to the predetermined position in the corona discharging device or the cartridge.

    摘要： A photoreceptor cartridge unit having a cartridge frame made of plastic on which a photoreceptor drum acting as a rotary member and its peripheral components are integrally mounted. The cartridge frame is formed with a plurality of bearing portions for supporting the rotary members and a plurality of positioning projections and is split, at the bearing portions, into two frame portions provided with an engageable portion and a receiver portion, respectively. The peripheral components are formed with a plurality of positioning holes so as to be mounted on the cartridge frame through engagement of the positioning projections with the positioning holes. The two frame portions are coupled with each other through engagement of the engageable portion with the receiver portion.
