More readily attained and maintained technical competence in playing the flute is enabled by facilitator mechanism (13) for improved actuation of the B flat key. Facilitator mechanism (14) includes a rocker bar (54) coupling the Briccialdi B flat lever to the rod assembly sections carrying the B flat key and the G key. Coupling between the G sharp lever and the B flat key is maintained by cam (67, 81) and plate (68, 82).

    摘要: A split E mechanism for flutes having a split G key mechanism is achieved by attaching of a short arm to the F-sharp key in a manner so as to partially overlie an adjacent G-A combination key of the split G key mechanism. According to a preferred embodiment, the arm is soldered to the side of the free end of the F-sharp key at a position such that the adjacent G-A combination key will be closed when the F-sharp key is closed without the G-A combination key interfering with closing of the F-sharp key.

    摘要: A headjoint stopper for the headjoint of a flute includes a concave bottom disc member having an externally threaded stem axially extending from the back side, a deformable, ring-like sealing member positioned against the back side of the bottom disc, a clamping washing and a hex nut threadedly received on the externally threaded stem. The bottom disc member has an external configuration sized to fit the inside of the headjoint with metal-to-metal contact around the entire circumference of the bottom disc member. The externally threaded stem is integral with the bottom disc such that as the hex nut is advanced along the stem toward the bottom disc, the clamping washer is forced against the sealing member and the sealing member is thereby compressed between the bottom disc and the clamping washer. With the headjoint stopper properly positioned within the headjoint relative to the embouchure hole, the advancement of the hex nut causes the thickness of the sealing member to decrease which results in a corresponding increase in peripheral length. This increase in peripheral length causes the sealing member to expand against the inside diameter of the headjoint irrespective of any out-of-round condition and thereby forms an air-tight seal.
