摘要: An airflow indicator providing a visually observable measure of relative airflow through a wind musical instrument which facilitates evaluation proximate the end of the instrument. This allows airflow to traverse the majority of the length of the instrument and particularly to traverse the valve section, so that actions of a player in operating the valves which impair the airflow may be seen. Some examples may be configured to minimize differences in pitch between the wind musical instrument with the airflow indicator in place, relative to the wind musical instrument without the airflow indicator.

摘要: A saxophone neck system uses interchangeable component parts to modify and optimize sound and resistance. The saxophone neck system may allow a saxophone player the ability to change components to achieve variations in sound and to use the components with various manufacturers' instruments and mouthpieces. With the use of various internal shapes and dimensions placed in a specific combination, the player can create a desired sound. Additionally, the saxophone neck system may eliminate neck cork compression discrepancies from different manufacturers by offering different diameters of the body of the initiator portion of the saxophone neck system to fit any saxophone mouthpiece.

摘要: A capturing device joins with an instrument to capture an accumulated body fluid in the instrument. The device has a tubular shape for capturing and containing a superfluous amount of fluid that has accumulated inside an instrument from performing on the instrument. The device joins with the instrument, proximally to an instrument fluid accumulation portion. For example, the device is oriented on the instrument to capture the fluid that accumulates in the spit valve. The instrument may require tilting or other manipulations to enable fluid to flow from the instrument fluid accumulation portion to a reception aperture. The device is capped on each end, whereby one of the capped ends form a secure seal for trapping the body fluid inside the device, and may also be removed for removing the body fluid. The device has an absorbent portion to absorb the fluid in an interior region.

摘要: A method and apparatus of tuning a wind instrument which stabilizes the mating sections of a jointed instrument when the mating sections are pulled out or pushed in during tuning. At least one O-ring is inserted between the mating sections which seals the interface between the sections to create an air tight seal and firm support between sections. The O-rings may have differing thickness, and any number of O-rings may be used. During tuning, the O-rings may be compressed in order to seal the interface between segments when the segments are pulled out or pushed in with respect to each other.

摘要: A protective system includes a protective multi-layered body portion for protecting an instrument from debris, wind, temperature extremes, and visual observation. The body portion encapsulates the instrument fully assembled, so that a user has to remove the cover to utilize the instrument. The body portion minimizes contact with instrument. The body portion includes multiple layers. Each layer provides a unique, novel function for protection of the instrument. An inner layer engages the instrument. An intermediate layer contours to the shape of the instrument and provides insulation. An exterior layer forms the exterior protective surface and includes a pouch and a handle. Outside the body portion, a fastener regulates access to the inside. Inside the body portion, an instrument enhancing device, such as silica packs help protect the instrument. At least one wire carries a current along the body portion to provide heat for the instrument from an external source.
