摘要： The invention relates to a military safety helmet with a cap resistant to bombardment and an internal band arrangement, connected firmly to the helmet cap at several points and comprised of an approximately horizontally encircling annular supporting band, a plurality of bands extending in a radiating manner from a central fastening piece on the top side of the helmet and bands for connecting the adjacent radiating bands. The internal band arrangement provides all-round impact damping, especially under the effect of shocks, and good ventilation since the bands have formed-on bosses pointing towards the inner face of the helmet cap. Above the supporting band, fastening strips extend which have no bosses and the ends of which are connected firmly to the helmet cap in such a way that the band arrangement rests against the inner face of the helmet cap via the bosses. The radiating bands are approximately the width of the bosses, and the bosses are preferably designed as hollow cylinders.

摘要： An adjustable suspension for a helmet or the like in which a front headband portion adapted to extend across the front of the wearer's head and a rear headband portion adapted to extend across the rear of the wearer's head receive an adjustable peripheral strap that extends around the wearer's head to complete the headband. Respective crown straps secured to the headband portions at their lower ends are formed with loops at their upper ends which are interconnected by an adjustable-length cord. A suspension frame contains apertures at spaced locations therearound for receiving the intermediate portions of the crown straps. Each headband portion also receives an adjustable strap that is looped through adjacent apertures in the suspension frame to permit adjustment of the front-to-back spacing of the suspension frame relative to the wearer's head.

摘要： The fastener is formed within a protective helmet provided with a crown suspension and a head suspension. The crown suspension has a central portion adapted to contact the top of a wearer's head and has radially outwardly extending legs. The head suspension includes an outer strap which encircles the wearer's head at approximately the level with respect to the wearer's head of a normal hat band. A barb is joined to the end of each leg and tapers in thickness from its juncture with the leg to its end. A barb is also joined to a portion of the strap at its upper edge and likewise tapers in thickness from its juncture with the strap to its end. A number of flaps are connected to the inside wall of the helmet. Each flap has a slot through which the leg and strap extend, and above which the barbs connected to the straps are positioned. The barbs connected to the legs are accommodated in the space between the flaps and the inside wall of the helmet. The slots have a width less than the sum of the thicknesses of the barb adjacent thereto at their junctures with the leg and strap respectively, whereby removal of the barbs through the slots is prevented.

摘要： A safety cap has an energy absorbing suspension including crown straps for supporting engagement with the crown of a wearer's head connected to elastically deformable, rupturable and controlled plastically deformable portions of connecting means attached to anchor means in the shell of the cap. The connecting means have end portions adapted to be attached to and wedgingly engage the anchor means. The shock or impact of a blow against the shell suspended on the resisting wearer's head is partially absorbed initially by a wedging action which continues until the end portions are fully seated relative to the anchor means. Further, loading causes the crown straps to pull against, deform and bend energy absorbing portions of the connecting means into adjoining apertures of predetermined size and shape. Finally, at a predetermined force, the bending moments at opposite ends of the energy absorbing portions exceed the tensile yield strength of the material and causes the portions to rupture. The failure and plastic deformation thereof is thereafter controlled and limited by allowing them to progressively or successively bottom against control means about the apertures. An adjustable and removable headband including a sweatband is attached to and supported by the connecting means.
