摘要： The invention relates to an adjustable fastener such as one suitable for use in securing straps in a variety of orthotic and other types of devices. The fastener comprises a male portion and a female portion that are each attached to a strap or other desired location on the device with which the fastener is used. The male portion comprises an elongated tab and the female portion comprises a housing and a passage through the housing. The passage allows the elongated tab to slide through the housing in the female portion. An engagement finger in the housing is resiliently biased to engage one or more teeth along an edge of the elongated tab to prevent the elongated tab from sliding further out of the passage. The finger can be selectively disengaged from the teeth to allow the elongated tab to slide further or completely out of the housing. Preferably there are teeth along both edges of the elongated tab and there is a finger in the housing adapted to separately engage each set of teeth. It is additionally preferable that the elongated tab can be ratcheted further into the housing by sliding it without disengaging the engagement finger.

摘要： An adjustable animal collar provides a strap with a housing at one end and a second end connected to an engagement area. The engagement area is formed with a plurality of teeth received into the housing, where a rotating pawl engages the teeth. The pawl, pivotably rotating within the housing and partly covered in one embodiment with a cover plate, has a biasing means, which in one embodiment is a torsion spring, to bias the pawl in favor of engagement with at least one of the teeth. The biasing means can be overcome by manual pressure on a portion of the pawl, causing release of the collar. The collar may have at least one safety device preventing the pawl from being inadvertently disengaged, and a safety indicia area to visually indicate the locked or unlocked status of the collar. The collar is capable of attachment to a variety of accessories.

The mutual longitudinal movement of the box and the plate is therefore avoided, while pressure applied to the tappet against the pressure applied by the spring frees the pin from the serration to allow for the mutual longitudinal movement. A single coaxial spring (24) is implemented to at least one of said tappet (25, 26).

摘要： A strap assembly for controlling the inward pressure on ear cups (14) mounted on a helmut (10). A rear strap (22) is rotatably secured to the helmut (10). At each end of the rear strap (22) are a pair of opposed buckles tabs (27). Each buckle defines a slot (36). The tabs (27) have a flexbile pawl (48) formed in a movable cover (44). There are a pair of opposed straps (60) having one end secured to the forward portion of the helmut. The other end of the strap (60) passes through the ear cups (14) and through the slots (36) in the buckle tabs. Each of the straps (60) has a ratchet track (64). When the straps (60) are moved toward one another to increase the inward pressure of the associated ear cups (14) the ratchet track slides under and displaces outwardly the pawl (48) in the tabs (27). Reversal movement of the strap (60) is prevented when the cover (44) is in its closed position.

摘要： A device for adjusting the waist size of a garment having an inner waist portion and an outer waist portion which are loose and can be held together in a mutually overlapping relation, includes a guide tape attached to the outside of the inner waist portion and having a plurality of teeth formed on its inner surface along its length, and a slider attached to the outer waist portion slidably along the guide tape and engageably with its teeth. The slider includes a flat hollow body having a pair of horizontally spaced apart openings through which the guide tape extends, and a pair of vertically spaced apart openings, and an actuator housed in the body and having a push head at its top, a leg at its bottom and a plurality of protrusions each engageable with one of the teeth on the guide tape. The head and leg are held in the vertically spaced apart openings, respectively, of the body. The body is secured to the outer waist portion of the garment by a fitting having prongs pierced therethrough. At least one spring is housed in the body for urging the actuator upwardly to hold the protrusions in engagement with some of the teeth on the guide tape to hold the slider against movement along the guide tape until the push head is depressed to push down the actuator to disengage the protrusions from the teeth and render the slider slidable along the guide tape.

摘要： A belt with improved ratchet type buckling means is disclosed. The belt has a pawl assembly vertically held between the top and bottom walls of the buckle and selectively engaging with a ratchet part. The pawl assembly has a rotatable cylinder, a pawl coupled to the cylinder and adapted for selectively engaging with the ratchet part. A vertically movable push rod is received in the cylinder such that the bottom of the push rod projects out of the bottom wall of the bucket. The cylinder along with the pawl is rotated to make the pawl disengage from the ratchet part when the push rod vertically moves up in the cylinder. In order to rotate the cylinder with the pawl, a radial projection of the push rod is received in an inclined slit formed on a side wall of the cylinder.

The actuating frame 20 has lateral walls 16 and a cover 17, holes 22 supporting the engaging strips 14, and corners 15, which become fulcra of the movement of the actuating frame 20, claws 16a which abut on the slanted edges 10c of the mounting frame 13, an engaging tongue 18 which is engageable with one of the projections 4 and an engagement-releasing actuating strip 19. The sheet spring 21 is attached to the bottom 9 of the mounting frame 13.
