    摘要： A method and apparatus for producing a shell body of revolution with a substantially constant wall thickness comprising: Preparing the shell by accurately machining a surface concentric and perpendicular to the axis of the shell surface, the machined surface facilitating accurate alignment of the shell within the machining apparatus, cutting both the inside and outside surfaces of the shell simultaneously with the cutters at a fixed separation to maintain constant wall thickness; controlling the rotational velocity of the shell during machining with respect to the transverse movement of the cutters to maintain constant surface cutting speed by means of a pivotal eccentric cam operating upon at least one potentiometer.
