    Abstract: A boring tool holder has a base member and a cutting insert holding member. The base member has a first main surface and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface. The cutting insert holding member is contiguous to the base member on the first main surface, and disposed in a circumferential direction of the base member as viewed in a direction from the first main surface toward the second main surface. A cross-sectional area of the base member in a cross section perpendicular to the direction from the first main surface toward the second main surface and intersecting the base member is larger than a cross-sectional area of the cutting insert holding member in a cross section perpendicular to the direction from the first main surface toward the second main surface and intersecting the cutting insert holding member.

    Abstract: A boring-bar arrangement includes a boring bar, a securing device, and a clamping bolt. The securing device has a reduction sleeve, which is secured in a tool chuck, which has a front end that faces away from the tool chuck and a protruding hollow section which receives the boring bar. The hollow section has a hollow-section interior, a hollow-section outer wall, and a hollow-section wall which is arranged therebetween. The hollow-section wall has a first thickness in a side region where the cutting tool protrudes from the boring bar which is less than a second thickness in a rest of the hollow-section wall. The boring bar is releasably secured as a replaceable head, via its back end, at a front end of the protruding hollow section. A front end of the clamping bolt has a male thread which sits in the female thread of the boring bar.

    Abstract: A boring bar for a non-rotating boring tool includes an elongated body configured for attachment to a support structure of a metal cutting machine and arranged to carry a tool part provided with a cutting element. At least two electrically controlled vibration actuators are arranged for active vibration damping of the boring bar. Each actuator includes a moveably arranged damping mass configured to generate vibratory forces in parallel with a working axis of the actuator that is perpendicular to a center axis of the damping mass. Each actuator is a single-axis actuator having one single working axis, wherein the actuators are arranged with their working axes angularly offset from each other. The actuators are arranged in a longitudinal series in the elongated body with the center axis of the damping mass of each actuator coinciding with a longitudinal axis of the elongated body.

    Abstract: A fixing device for fixing a boring bar on a material-removing machine includes a reducing sleeve with a hollow profile arranged on a front face which faces away from a machine chuck. The boring bar is received in an interior of the hollow profile. An end region of the boring bar projects from the hollow profile and carries a cutting tool. The hollow profile has a wall arranged between the interior and an exterior of the hollow profile. The wall has a first thickness and a second thickness. The first thickness is less than the second thickness. The first thickness is established at a side of the fixing device where the cutting tool projects radially from the boring bar. A longitudinal axis of the hollow profile is parallel to and at a distance from the axis of the reducing sleeve which is coaxial with the interior of the boring bar.
