摘要： A food serving system for delivering prepared meals to locations remote from the point of preparation which includes a mobile cart having its own low voltage rechargeable power pack that may be utilized to make the cart self powered. The cart has a tier of shelves for carrying removable, generally flat, individual, food serving trays. Each shelf is provided with one or more thermally isolated heat transfer devices which may be energized when a tray is placed on the shelf in the cart. The heat transfer devices are intended to maintain the food in selected dishes and bowls at the desired serving temperature for extended periods without affecting the temperature of the foods and beverages in other dishes, bowls and cups on the trays, so that the food remains at the proper serving temperature. In one embodiment the trays have holes at selected locations which allow the dishes directly to engage the heat transfer devices, while in another embodiment the trays have plates of high thermal conductivity, which support the dishes and engage the heat transfer devices.

摘要： The restaurant dining system described in the specification comprises dining and bar areas, a cocktail lounge, a kitchen and an order-taking post separate from and adjacent the dining and bar areas to facilitate the direct delivery of food and drink orders taken by telephone from patrons in the dining area and cocktail lounge in visual communication with the order-taking person. A combined piano bar-bandstand straddles the bar area and dance floor. Variably-translucent panels control visual communication with the dining area. Each table has its own speaker and volume control for music playing. Detachable carpet panels permit the movement of telephone and audio cables coupled to the tables. A phone protection system signals the cutting of any telephone cable. The bar area may be glass-enclosed to control the sound and smoke levels, and a microphone within the bar area permits the feeding of the bar area sound at a controlled audio level into the audio amplifier system feeding the table speakers.

摘要： An integrated conveyor system for use in drive-in banks and the like for conveying a deposit box or similar receptacle from a remote customer station to a teller station, the system comprising a pair of self-contained vertical modules, one at the customer station and the other at the teller station, interconnected by a self-contained horizontal module, the vertical modules each incorporating opposing sets of conveyor belts arranged to convey the deposit box therebetween in a vertical path of travel, the sets of belts being guided by staggered sets of idler rolls positioned to cause the sets of belts and the box conveyed therebetween to move in a sinuous path of travel in such fashion that the box is securely engaged at all times by the sets of belts, the horizontal module having translation members at its opposite ends to move the box from vertical to horizontal, or from horizontal to vertical position, together with a belt conveyor for moving the box horizontally from one end of the module to the other, of actuating switches being provided to initiate movement of the various sets of conveyor belts upon the introduction of the box into one end of the system, and to deactivate the conveyor belts when the box is discharged at the opposite end of the system, together with teller controlled over-ride switches for starting and stopping the conveyors.

摘要： An automated system for a dining room or mess comprises an endless belt which is entrained about rollers so that the belt has an upper horizontal run and a lower run situated below the upper horizontal run. An electric motor or the like is provided to drive the endless belt about the rollers. The belt is provided, on the upper surface of its upper run, with devices for securing sets of eating utensils to the upper surface, with the sets being spaced apart from one another along the upper run to define a plurality of eating positions. The system further comprises a plurality of seats adjacent to the upper run and spaced apart therealong to enable persons to eat from the upper run at the eating positions respectively. Thus, the upper run itself forms a table top. Washing apparatus is positioned beneath the upper run to wash the upper surface and eating utensils secured thereto when the electric motor has been operated to bring a portion of the upper run of the belt into the position of the lower run.

摘要： A check out system for a supermarket, or other retail merchandise store or the like, having a cooperating shopping cart and check out counter. The check out counter is provided with a horizontal check out surface which is elevated above the floor at a convenient work height. This surface can support apparatus such as scales, or be provided with conveyors in the surface thereof for moving merchandise. The check out surface is also provided with a centrally located groove which extends along the length thereof, the groove being narrow enough in width so that ordinary merchandise will not fall therein. Located below the groove is a clearance area which extends the length of the check out counter. This area has an inclined ramp surface for supporting a check out cart therein. A check out cart is provided with an undercarriage portion having a plurality of rotatable wheels thereon for allowing the cart to move over the surface of the store or supermarket, as required. Also attached to the undercarriage is an auxiliary merchandise receiving portion and a narrow upstanding support to which is pivotably attached an upper basket portion for receiving merchandise and the like. The merchandise cart is provided with a foldable infant seat assembly for use in transporting infants about the store. The carts are also provided with means for allowing the carts to nest together to reduce the storage space required therefor. The upstanding support on the cart is such a size that it will slide through the groove with the undercarriage portion moving through the clearance area and the upper basket portion being supported above the upper surface of the counter. Also, the upper basket portion is provided with a vertically swinging door in the side thereof which allows easy access to the interior of the basket portion.
