摘要： Bi-directional resistance exercise apparatus designed to offer resistance to opposing muscle groups. The apparatus provides continuous and sequential resistance during the extension and flexion phases. The apparatus includes a controller including a graphic display. Resistance is provided by a variable resistance element such as a magnetic brake. A chair or other body supporting devices support the user depending on the exercise being performed. Force is applied by the user to a rotatable limb or torso retaining member and is transferred to the shaft of the magnetic brake. The brake applies variable resistance determined by the software instructions issued by the controller. The resistance levels can be pre-programmed or specifically selected by the user. The brake force varies instantaneously during the flexion and extension phases based on the angular position of the input shaft. A record of the exercise activity can be stored and displayed by the microprocessor controller.

Measurement results obtained from assessments of respective physical dimensions and personal environment dimensions of the individual are used to define respective diagnostics metrics, and also to generate diagnostic and goal scores for the respective metrics. A rehabilitation plan for the individual is selected in view of the diagnostic and goal scores with the intention of increasing an individual's compatibility with the plan and the likelihood of success for rehabilitation. The selection of a rehabilitation plan can include querying a database including previously prescribed rehabilitation plans indexed by physical and personal environment dimensions characteristics of respective patients that were prescribed the rehabilitation plans.

The MP3 player includes a DSP processor for processing audio data and playing them; a vibration sensing component for generating a first signal following with a user's vibration and transmitting the first signal to the DSP processor; and a heartbeat sensor for sensing the heartbeat condition of the user to generate a second signal and transmit the second signal to the DSP processor. By using the DSP processor to process the first and the second signals to obtain the status of physical strength of the user, so that when the user carries the MP3 player for exercising, the MP3 player can play the music, and always monitor the exercising status of the user.
