摘要: An automated lumber handling method for transferring various size boards from multiples board storage stations to a common board-receiving area uses a trolley that carries at least two board pickers that can operate independently. The method provides several operating modes. In a first mode, a first board picker retrieves single boards from various stations, while a second board picker is inactive. In a second mode, two board pickers retrieve two individual boards from a single station. In a third mode, one board picker retrieves one size board from a first station, and s second board picker retrieves a different size board from a second station. The two different boards can be released simultaneously at the board-receiving area. In some examples, the lumber at each station is laser scanned to determine the number of boards at each station, and a worker is notified if a station needs to be restocked.

摘要: A lumber retrieval method renders a lumber handling system readily adaptable to compensate for irregular floors, an irregular overhead track, and variable station locations. In some examples, the method involves laser scanning the top profile of multiple stacks of lumber, each of which contain boards of a unique size. Based on the scanned profiles and the size of the boards, the method determines and displays the number of boards at each station. In some examples, the system provides a calibration mode that automatically determines the discrete locations of multiple stacks of lumber and compensates for a nonparallel relationship between the track and the floor. In some examples, the scanning and calibration process help determine the quantity of boards at each station.

摘要: A firewood processor, comprising a saw, means for feeding wood for the saw, a splitting chute, a splitting wedge arranged to split a log, of which at least part is arranged in the splitting chute, into pieces, a pressure plate arranged to support the log, and means for moving the pressure plate and/or the splitting wedge towards each other in such a way that the log is configured to be split by said movement. In the firewood processor, the splitting wedge is arranged to split the log into an intermediate split log and at least one firewood-ready piece. The firewood processor further comprises a returning element for returning the intermediate split log back to the splitting chute for further splitting and a protector for protecting the user of the firewood processor. The firewood processor is configured to automatically return the intermediate split log, using the returning element, to the splitting chute.

摘要: The device has a sawing station with cross-cut saw downstream of a feed transport device feeding workpieces to a transport unit of the sawing station that has a drive separate from that of the feed transport device. The feed transport device has a retaining/accumulating unit driven independently of a transport element of the feed transport device and subjecting the workpieces to a slower supply speed than the transport element. A transfer transport device is located between retaining/accumulating unit and sawing station. The drive of the transport element of the transfer transport device is controlled/adjusted independent of or by the drive of the retaining/accumulating unit via mechanically coupled step-up gear. The workpieces initially accumulate in the feed transport device and abut each other and are then transported onward with acceleration so that they are again spaced apart. The workpiece position is detected in the region of the transfer transport device.

The gripping inserts extend along a helical path and are configured to grip and shift a work piece in a predetermined direction. The gripping inserts are secured to the feed roller body in a helical slot formed between a wall of the feed roller body and a plurality of clamping wedges. The clamping wedge facilitates locking and securing the gripping insert to the feed roller body in a radial direction in response to centrifugal forces created as the feed roller head rotates.
