The recognizing includes determining a first set of faces representing a depression and a second set of faces representing a protrusion, and selecting, among the first set of faces and the second set of faces, a set of faces having a shortest boundary curve perimeter and being different from both the selected at least one face and the B-rep.     Abstract: The disclosure notably relates to a computer-implemented method for 3D reconstruction. The method comprises providing a 3D point cloud representing a real object. The method also comprises fitting the 3D point cloud with parametric surfaces. The method also comprises defining a partition of the parametric surfaces into oriented facets which respect intersections between the parametric surfaces. The method also comprises determining, among the oriented facets of the partition, a set of facets that represents a skin of the real object. The determining comprises minimizing an energy. The energy includes a data term and a constraint term. The data term increasingly penalizes discarding facets, as a level of fit between a discarded facet and the 3D point cloud increases. The constraint term penalizes formation of non-skin geometry by kept facets. Such a method provides an improved solution for 3D reconstruction.

    Abstract: A computer implemented method for designing a 3D modeled object that represents a mechanical part. The method comprises selecting a group of faces of the B-Rep, defining a trajectory for each respective face of the group of faces, computing, for each face of the group of faces, a respective swept volume, the swept volume corresponding to the volume swept by the respective face with respect to the trajectory, assigning a material removal label or a material adding label to each swept volume, according to the position of the swept volume at the respective face with respect to the interior of the 3D modeled object, and updating the B-Rep with a material removal volume and then a material adding volume. The method improves the design of a 3D modeled object.
