摘要: A tow strap and set of jumper cables in one. With this device, a driver can jump start a vehicle or tow a vehicle with a single device. The device has a set of jumper cables that are embedded within a pair of tow straps that are sewn together in one form; or where the strap is folded over the cable and sewn, in a second model. In both cases, exits are provided for the clip portions of the jumper cables. Clips can be attached to the strap to hold the clip portions of the jumper cables as well. One design uses alligator clips for the jumper cables. Other designs use DC plugs and threaded nuts. These connectors can be used in pairs or can be mixed as desired.

摘要: An apparatus for controlling the drag area growth of a parachute canopy during airborne descent with sensors attached to the payload for facilitating modification of the schedule of release of a parachute canopy reefing mechanism. A control processor is included that can receive and/or calculate a schedule for disengaging the reefing on the parachute. One or more wireless transmitters at the payload transmit the releasing signal from the payload to the reefing mechanism normally located adjacent the parachute canopy. The control processor can also be configured to receive input information from multiple sensors attached to the payload that monitor parameters such as altitude, position, load force, dynamic pressure, time and others to facilitate instantaneous recalculation of the disreefing schedule responsive to such conditions.

摘要: A method for controlling fossil fuel fired heating systems according to an improved adaptive cyclical control method when operating on backup (auxiliary DC) electrical power. Battery life is prolonged when used in conjunction with such improved method. Operating characteristics of the heating equipment and home or building being heated are monitored and stored in electronic memory during normal periods of operation when grid power is available. These characteristics are used to create control algorithms that are in turn specific to the system, as defined by the heating equipment and conditioned space. When the grid power is lost the control algorithms select the optimal heating mode, determine optimal cycle duration, and estimate the time to exhaustion of the remaining backup power. Operation is divided into sequential modes. When a prolonged low voltage period is detected, the backup power control initiates a short-term preliminary energy conservation mode. As the outage persists, the control transitions to intermediate and long-term energy conservation modes until the backup power is exhausted or grid power is restored.
