Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for managing a contention window based on detection of a transmission error, the method including: recognizing a transmission failure of data in the case of transmitting data using a contention-based wireless channel access method; verifying whether the transmission failure of data occurs due to a channel error or a collision by a contention between terminals; and determining a value of a contention window set in association with data transmission based on the verification result.
