摘要: A mounting construction which improves the mounting operation of a combination switch (3) to a steering column (1) of an automobile. The mounting construction includes a bracket (2) provided with two integral fastening projections (23, 23) which extend parallel to the steering column (1) from a key cylinder (22) of an ignition switch, and an integral threaded hole (24) located above the steering column (1). The fastening projections (23, 23) each have a first longitudinal projection (25) and a recess (26). A trapezoidal-shaped base (4) of the combination switch (3) has an insertion hole (41) in the middle of an upper side and two fitting holes (42, 42) on a lower side. The fitting holes (42, 42) are through-holes which extend parallel to the steering column (1) and into which the fastening projections (23, 23) of the bracket (2) are fitted. A resilient hook (43) and a second longitudinal projection (44) are provided in each of the fitting holes (42, 42). The resilient hooks (43, 43) are engaged with the recesses (26), (26) in each of the fastening projections (23, 23), and the second longitudinal projection (44) abuts the first longitudinal projection (25). A screw (7) is inserted through the insertion hole (41) and threaded into the threaded hole (24), thereby firmly fixing the base (4) of the combination switch to the bracket (2).

A cancel pin 7 rotates with a steering shaft 17. A cam guide 5 is mounted on the movable platen 3, and has elastic arms 5b and 5c that contact with the cancel cam 6 when the lever 4 is swung and the cancel pin 7 impinges on the cancel cam 6. The structure of the present invention makes it simple to mount the cam guide by forming the cam guide with an elastic arm that contacts with the cancel cam when the lever is swung.

摘要: A fixing device includes a fixing rotator, a pressure rotator, a cleaner, and a moving assembly. The cleaner contacts and cleans a cleaning target, which includes one of the fixing rotator and the pressure rotator. The moving assembly moves the cleaner between a contact position at which the cleaner contacts the cleaning target and a separate position at which the cleaner is apart from the cleaning target. The moving assembly includes a biasing member that presses the cleaner to move to the contact position. The moving assembly moves the cleaner from the contact position to the separate position against a biasing force of the biasing member. The moving assembly moves the cleaner from the separate position to the contact position while increasing and then decreasing the biasing force of the biasing member greater than the biasing force applied when the cleaner is located at the contact position.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a fixing rotator and an opposed rotator pressed against the fixing rotator to form a fixing nip therebetween, through which a recording medium bearing a toner image is conveyed. A heater heats the fixing rotator. A temperature sensor contacts the opposed rotator to detect a temperature of the opposed rotator. A conveyor conveys the recording medium to the fixing nip. A driver drives the conveyor. A controller, operatively connected to the temperature sensor and the driver, controls the driver to drive the conveyor to convey the recording medium to the fixing nip based on the temperature of the opposed rotator detected by the temperature sensor. The controller causes the driver to be ready to drive the conveyor when a change in the detected temperature of the opposed rotator per unit time reaches a predetermined threshold.

摘要: A developing device includes a developer bearer, a development casing in which a developer conveyance channel is formed facing the developer bearer through a communicating area, a developer supply member disposed in the developer conveyance channel, a developer regulator disposed facing a lower portion of the developer bearer to adjust an amount of developer carried on the developer bearer, and a sheet member that is removably installed to seal the communicating area and passes through a gap between the developer regulator and the developer bearer and an opening formed in the development casing. A first end of the sheet member is retained downstream from the gap in a direction of rotation of the developer bearer, and the sheet member is fixed to the development casing at a position across the communicating area from the first end with a second end positioned outside the development casing.
