    摘要: An organic electroluminescent device including: a light reflecting layer (1), a light semi-transmitting layer (3) and a light interference part (2) including an organic emitting layer, the part being formed between the light reflecting layer (1) and the light semi-transmitting layer (3); the spectrum of reflected light (B) having at least three minimum values in the wavelength region of 400 to 800 nm when light (A) having a wavelength of 400 to 800 nm enters from the light semi-transmitting layer (1). Incident light (A) is reflected in the light interference part (B) and undergoes optical interference effects. At this time, it is possible to cause the spectrum of light emitted to the outside to have a certain sharpened wavelength peak by adjusting the optical path length of the light interference part (2). As a result, the color purity is improved.

    摘要: An organic EL element (200) emits light containing a blue component (B) and a component (θ) with a peak in 500 to 600 nm. A red converting member (360) has an excitation spectrum with a peak in 500 to 600 nm. The red converting member receives light from the organic EL element (200) and converts the blue component (B) to a red component (R). At this time, the luminance of the red component (R) is enhanced since the member (360) is strongly excited by the component (θ). As a result, the white balance of three colors is improved. Therefore a color emission device (100) can be provided where the intensity of red light is enhanced.

    摘要: An organic EL device is improved to produce an increased luminance and have a prolonged lifetime. In an organic EL device comprising a cathode layer 16, an electron injection region 14, a light emission region 12 and an anode layer 10 as laminated in that order, the electron injection region 14 contains an aromatic compound composed of carbon and hydrogen or an aromatic compound composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, along with a reducing dopant, and the electron affinity of the electron injection region is controlled to fall between 1.8 and 3.6 eV; or the electron injection region 14 contains an electron-transporting compound and a reducing dopant having a work function of at most 2.9 eV, and the electron affinity of the electron injection region is controlled to fall between 1.8 and 3.6 eV.
