Abstract: A method for joining a first conduit section having a longitudinally extending open first end and an inner surface with a second conduit section having a longitudinally extending end and an outer surface is provided. Abstract: An upright surface cleaning apparatus comprises a surface cleaning head, an upright section and a rotatable mount. The upright section is moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a generally upright position and a rearwardly inclined in use position, the upright section has an air treatment member assembly, a push handle and a suction motor housing. The push handle has a longitudinally extending drive axis that extends through the air treatment member assembly and the suction motor housing. The rotatable mount rotatably mounts the upright section with respect to the surface cleaning head about an upright section axis wherein the rotatable mount underlies the upright section when the upright section is in the generally upright position.

The outlet end of the outlet section overlies a cyclone air outlet. The porous section extends longitudinally inwardly from an outlet end of the porous section that is located at the inlet end of the outlet section. The inlet end of the outlet section has a width in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction that is greater than a width of the outlet end of the porous section in the transverse direction.

Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a main body having a main body actuator operable between an open position and a closed position. An assembly removably mounted to the main body has an air treatment member having an openable door and an assembly door lock, the assembly door lock comprising an actuation portion operable between an open position and a closed position and lock portion operable between an engaged position in which the door is secured in a closed position and a disengaged position in which the door is openable. When the assembly is mounted to the main body, the main body actuator is operatively connected to the actuation portion of the assembly door lock whereby when the main body actuator is moved from the closed position to the open position, the actuation portion is moved.

Abstract: An upright surface cleaning apparatus comprises a surface cleaning head and an upright section. The surface cleaning head has rear wheels having a diameter and a central longitudinal axis extending between the front and rear ends. The upright section is movably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a generally upright position and a rearwardly inclined in use position. The upright section has an air treatment member assembly comprising an air treatment member, a dirt collection region wherein at least a portion of the dirt collection region is exterior to and laterally spaced with respect to the air treatment member and a housing having a suction motor therein. The diameter of the rear wheels is greater than a depth of the portion of the dirt collection region in a direction of the central longitudinal axis.
