    Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus has a first air flow path extending from a dirty air inlet to a clean air outlet with a suction motor and a cyclone positioned in the first air flow path. The cyclone has a cyclone chamber, a first airflow passage, and a second airflow passage. The first airflow passage defines a first tangential air inlet to the cyclone chamber and the second airflow passage defines a second tangential air inlet to the cyclone chamber. The airflow path includes a common airflow passage upstream of the first and second airflow passages and an axis of the common airflow passage intersects the cyclone chamber. At least a portion of the first tangential air inlet is positioned upstream from a location at which the common airflow passage axis intersects the cyclone chamber.

    Abstract: A hand vacuum cleaner having a front end and a rear end positioned in a rearward direction rearward of the front end is described herein. The hand vacuum cleaner includes a dirty fluid inlet, an air treatment member downstream of the dirty fluid inlet, a pre-motor filter positioned in a pre-motor filter housing downstream from the air treatment member, a suction motor downstream of the pre-motor filter, an air flow path extending from the pre-motor filter to the suction motor, a clean air outlet downstream of the suction motor, and a handle. The pre-motor filter has a longitudinal length in the rearward direction that is longer than a transverse length in a direction transverse to the rearward direction. The pre-motor filter housing has first and second rearwardly extending pre-motor filter housing sidewalls and the pre-motor filter has first and second rearwardly extending pre-motor filter sidewalls that are positioned transversely inwardly of the pre-motor filter housing sidewalls. The pre-motor filter sidewalls are an upstream face of the pre-motor filter and the pre-motor filter has an inner cavity that is downstream of the upstream face.

    Abstract: An upright surface cleaning apparatus comprises an upper section moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a floor cleaning position, in which the upright surface cleaning apparatus is useable for cleaning a floor, and a storage position. The storage position includes a storage orientation of the upper section relative to the surface cleaning head wherein the upper section is stable in the storage position.     Abstract: A hand vacuum cleaner may have an air treatment member and a pre-motor filter downstream from the air treatment member. A suction motor and fan assembly may be is positioned downstream of and below the pre-motor filter, a post motor filter may be positioned downstream of the suction motor and fan assembly and in the lower end of the hand vacuum cleaner. A clean air outlet may be positioned below the suction motor and fan assembly whereby air travels downwardly from the suction motor and fan assembly and through the post motor filter to the clean air outlet.
