    摘要: Sulfur-containing petroleum oil feedstocks which include heavy hydrocarbon constituents undergo simultaneous desulfurization and hydroconversion by contacting and reacting such feedstocks with sodamide in the presence of hydrogen and at elevated temperatures. The mixture of reaction products resulting from the above procedure is separated to give a sodium sulfur salt by-product, and a petroleum oil product which has been substantially desulfurized and demetallized, as well as being significantly improved as indicated by a reduced Conradson carbon content and an increased API gravity relative to the feedstock. Sodamide is regenerated from the sodium sulfur salt by-product and can be recycled for reaction with additional feedstock.

    摘要: Sulfur-containing petroleum oil feedstocks which include heavy hydrocarbon constituents undergo simultaneous desulfurization and hydroconversion by contacting such feedstocks with alkaline earth metal hydrides or alkaline earth metal oxides, particularly barium hydride or barium oxide, in the presence of hydrogen, and at elevated temperatures. The mixtures of reaction products resulting from the above procedure can be separated to give a petroleum oil product which has been substantially desulfurized and demetallized and significantly upgraded as demonstrated by reduced Conradson carbon content, and increased API gravity and which includes alkaline earth metal sulfide salts from which the alkaline earth metal hydrides or oxides may be regenerated.

    摘要: A process for catalytically hydroconverting coal to produce coal liquids is effected by forming a mixture of an oil soluble metal compound, a hydrogen donor solvent and coal, converting the compound to a catalyst within said mixture and reacting the mixture with hydrogen. The recovered hydrogen donor solvent may be recycled to the hydroconversion zone without intervening hydrogenation. Preferred compounds are molybdenum compounds.
