摘要:
A transversely stretched nonwoven fabric is manufactured by transversely stretching a nonwoven fabric. First, an original web comprising a plurality of un-oriented filaments is heated to a temperature higher than its stretch suitable temperature by 5° C. or more. Next, the heated original web is stretched at a rate of 1.2 to 3 in its transverse direction to stretch the filaments of the original web with almost no molecular orientation involved. Then, the original web stretched transversely at a rate of 1.2 to 3 is heated to the stretch suitable temperature and the original web is further stretched transversely at the stretch suitable temperature. With these steps, a transversely stretched nonwoven fabric in which the original web is stretched transversely at a rate of 7 times or more in total as compared with the state of the stretch thereof is manufactured with a high tensile strength of 132.5 mN/tex (1.5 g/d) in the transverse direction.

摘要:
This invention relates to an ink-jet printer equipped with an ink-jet printhead and a control method and apparatus for the ink-jet printer. The printhead incorporates an EEPROM storing head information including the ink discharge amount characteristics of the printhead. The head information stored in this EEPROM is transmitted from the ink-jet printer having the printhead to the printer driver of a host computer. The printer driver then selects a gamma correction table in accordance with the head information. In this case, a gamma correction table is selected from a plurality of gamma correction tables in which pieces of correction information which make print densities uniform are stored in correspondence with ink discharge amounts. This table also includes correction data for correcting an increase in ink discharge amount to prevent beading due to an increase in ink discharge amount with a rise in the temperature of the printhead.

A liquid discharge head comprises discharge ports for discharging liquid; electrothermal transducing elements arranged to face the discharge ports; and a layer covering the electrothermal transducing elements. The gap between the discharge ports and the covering layer is 34 &mgr;m or less, and the thickness of the covering layer is 6,300 Å or less. One of the electrothermal transducing elements generates thermal energy of 0.0027 &mgr;J/&mgr;m2 or less by the application of a single driving pulse of 1.2 &mgr;s or less to produce film boiling to discharge liquid from the corresponding discharge port. Fluctuation of liquid bubbling on the surface of the electrothermal transducing element is reduced, and since the resultant meniscus retraction becomes smaller upon discharge, liquid can return to the surface of the electrothermal transducing element quickly and the meniscus faces the discharge port, improving displacement accuracy of liquid droplets on a printing medium even when driving is executed at high frequency.

A recording ink container having an air vent valve including a supporting means with a first opening, a first thin film with a second opening for covering the first opening, a second thin film for covering the second opening, and sealing means between the thin films. The valve functions to release air from the container through the first opening, and to permit the introduction of air into the container through the second opening with pressures of predetermined levels.

A fabrous material is impregnated with a treating agent comprising (1) a tetrakishydroxymethyl phosphonium compound or an ammonium condensate of a tetrakishydroxymethyl phosphonium compound, (2) methylolmelamine and (3) urea, thiourea or a guamidine salt, and the fabric is heated with high-pressure steam or subjected to a microwave heat treatment in the pressure of water vapor. A high and durable flame retardancy can be imparted to the fibrous material by this treatment. Especially good results are obtained when a fibrous material composed of a mixture of a polyester fiber and a cellulose fiber is treated according to this method.

Provided is a pellicle that has appropriate membrane strength, high resistance to chemicals, and a low degree of sulfate ion generation and outgassing. A provided pellicle frame supports the outer rim of a pellicle membrane, and an epoxy resin coating is formed on the surface of the pellicle frame. In the infrared absorption spectrum of said epoxy resin coating, the ratio of the absorbance of a peak in the range between 1450 cm−1 and 1550 cm−1 to the absorbance of a peak in the range between 1200 cm−1 and 1275 cm−1 is at least 0.5 and at most 3; also, the ratio of the absorbance of a peak in the range between 1450 cm−1 and 1550 cm−1 to the absorbance of a peak in the range between 905 cm−1 and 930 cm−1 is at least 1 and less than 7.

An ink jet print head is provided which, during a suction-based recovery operation, can effectively remove air bubbles from the common ink path by producing an ink flow in the common ink path. In each of a plurality of bubble forming chambers where an element is installed to generate a thermal energy, there are provided a first ink path for leading ink directly from the ink supply port and a second ink path for leading ink from the common ink path formed on a far side of the array of the bubble forming chambers with respect to the ink supply port. The plurality of the first ink paths include those ink paths with less flow resistance than that of the second ink paths and those ink paths with higher flow resistance than that of the second ink paths.
