The device includes: a sub-band divider which divides a first layer error conversion coefficient to be encoded into M sub-bands so as to generate M sub-band conversion coefficients; a shape vector encoder which performs encoding on each of the M sub-band conversion coefficients so as to obtain M shape encoded information and calculates a target gain of each of the M sub-band conversion coefficients; a gain vector former which forms one gain vector by using M target gains; a gain vector encoder which encodes the gain vector so as to obtain gain encoded information; and a multiplexer which multiplexes the shape encoded information with the gain encoded information.

    摘要: A vector quantizer which improves the accuracy of vector quantization in switching over a vector quantization codebook on a first stage depending on the type of feature having the correlation with a quantization target vector. In the vector quantizer, a classifier generates classification information representing a type of narrowband LSP vector having the correlation with wideband LSP (Line Spectral Pairs) of the plural types. A first codebook selects one sub-codebook corresponding to the classification information as a codebook used for the quantization of the first stage from plural sub-codebooks corresponding to each of the types of narrowband LSP vectors. A multiplier multiplies the quantization residual vector of the first stage inputted from an adder by a scaling factor corresponding to the classification information of plural scaling factors stored in a scaling factor determiner and outputs it to an adder as the quantization target of a second stage.

In a stereo signal encoding device, a sum/difference calculation section generates a monophonic signal which is the sum of first and second channel signals constituting a stereo signal and a side signal which is the difference between the first channel signal and the second channel signal. A mode setting section generates mode information that indicates either a monophonic encoding mode or a stereo encoding mode. A core layer encoding section, a first extended layer encoding section, a second extended layer encoding section, and a third extended layer encoding section individually carry out the monophonic encoding using the monophonic signals or the stereo encoding using both the monophonic signal and the side signal depending on the mode information, and output to a multiplexing section the resultant encoded information from the core layer to the third extended layer.

    摘要: An encoding device reduces the encoding distortion as compared to the conventional technique and obtains a preferable sound quality for auditory sense. In the encoding device, a shape quantization unit quantizes the shape of an input spectrum with a small number of pulse positions and polarities. The shape quantization unit sets a pulse amplitude width to be searched later upon search of the pulse position to a value not greater than the pulse amplitude width which has been searched previously. A gain quantization unit calculates a gain of a pulse searched by the shape quantization unit for each of bands.

A vector quantisation device (112) searches a codebook using code vectors, with which the impulse response of an audibility weighted synthesis filter is convolved and which configure the codebook, and target vectors. A filtering unit (201) applies a filter exhibiting a low pass and/or a high pass characteristic to the impulse response. If the filter has a high pass characteristic, a compaction unit (202) then compacts the degree of the post-filtering impulse response. A convolution unit (203) convolves the post-filtering impulse response with each of the code vectors. If the filter has a low pass characteristic, a search unit (204) thins out elements of the plurality of code vectors with which the impulse response has been convolved, and elements of the target vectors.
