摘要： An ink jet recording device includes a recording head having a discharge portion which has a discharge port array of discharge ports for discharging ink to a recording medium, a wiping member engageable with the discharge portion to wipe the discharge portion, and a cleaning member engageable with the wiping member to clean the wiping member, wherein a range of the discharge port array is smaller than a width of the wiping member, and the wiping member is equal to or smaller than a width of the cleaning member.

摘要： An ink-jet recording apparatus ejects droplets of a recording-improvement liquid on a boundary line between two different color portions of an image by using an ink-jet recording head. The ink-jet recording head comprises a group of nozzles for ejecting the recording-improvement liquid which is responsible for precipitating or condensing a coloring substance in the ink. Accordingly, a high-quality image that comprises black-color portion with a high image density without causing any feathering and multiple-color portions without a spread of ink can be obtained.

摘要： An ink jet head cartridge includes an ink jet head unit having an ink passage in which an energy generating element for generating energy used to discharge ink is disposed, and an ink tank adapted to store the ink to be fed to the ink passage and having a vent opening for permitting the interior of the ink tank to communicate with the atmosphere and being formed integrally with the ink jet head unit. In the ink jet cartridge an area where an ink absorber is disposed, and an air area at least a part of which is defined by a tubular member and which is filled with air, are formed in an internal space of the ink tank, and a porous member is disposed in an air passage extending from the air area to the vent opening. An ink tank can be incorporated into the above-mentioned ink jet head cartridge, and an ink jet recording apparatus utilizing the above-mentioned ink jet head cartridge can be provided.

摘要： In an apparatus to perform printing by ejecting an ink and a printing quality improving liquid for making a coloring agent in the ink insoluble or coagulated, reaction between the printing quality improving liquid and the coloring agent of the ink is certainly caused. Namely, after ejecting the printing quality improving liquid from a head, Bk ink, Y ink, M ink and C ink are ejected through heads within a given period, e.g. 500 msec. By this, the printing quality improving liquid may react with the coloring agent of the ink before penetrating into a printing medium to certainly make the coloring agent insoluble or coagulated.
