摘要： An absorbent article that realizes favorable erection of gathers and excels in transversal leakage preventing effects. There is disclosed a vertically long absorbent article comprising a surface layer with surface sheet (2), a backside layer with backside sheet (3), an absorbent layer with absorbent body (4) interposed therebetween and a pair of gathers (5,5) formed of a sheetlike member (9) so as to have a hollow on both the side areas of the surface layer in the longitudinal direction thereof. The pair of gathers (5,5) in the state of having a three-dimensional configuration part (10) wherein the sheetlike member (9) makes a convex on the external surface side of the absorbent article in the thickness direction thereof are joined to the surface layer and/or backside layer by a junction portion (11) provided so as to extend in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article. The three-dimensional configuration part (10) is provided so as to construct a hollow. The junction portion (11) includes a first junction edge portion (10a) defining the edge portion of the three-dimensional configuration part (10) on the inward side in the width direction thereof and a second junction edge portion (10b) defining the edge portion of the three-dimensional configuration part (10) on the outward side in the width direction thereof. Providing that L1 refers to the length of the three-dimensional configuration part (10) from the first junction edge portion (10a) to the second junction edge portion (10b) and L2 refers to the inter-junction-edge-portion distance being the distance between the first junction edge portion (10a) and the second junction edge portion (10b), the ratio thereof, L1/L2 is 2 or greater.

摘要： An absorbent article and method are disclosed for providing side leakage protection for an undergarment and absorbent article positioning guidance for proper placement on the undergarment. In one embodiment, an absorbent cuff pad is configured to fit the pudendal region of a woman with cuffs for receiving a crotch portion of an undergarment. In one embodiment, an absorbent pad and liquid-impermeable baffle are provided with stiffening means for a pair of garment-attachment nesting ridges for receiving an arcuately shaped crotch portion of an undergarment. In one embodiment, an absorbent configured to fit the pudendal region of a woman, a liquid-impermeable baffle, and stiffening means for multiple pairs of garment-attachment nesting ridges receive and protect an arcuately shaped crotch portion of an undergarment. Arcuately shaped pleats on a bottom lateral side surface of the absorbent article form the nesting ridges. In one embodiment, a pressure sensitive adhesive provides force to support the cuffs or the nesting ridges holding the undergarment in place during use. In one aspect, the absorbent article provides two or three or more garment-attachment nesting ridge pairs.

摘要： Disclosed is a sanitary napkin which is effective in preventing liquid from leaking out obliquely rearward. The sanitary napkin has rear flaps rearward of fold-back flaps to be wrapped around a crotch part of an undergarment. The rear flap has a side edge substantially parallel to a longitudinal centerline. The rear flap is provided at its front portion with a rear pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The rear pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is disposed forward of a rear end of a leakage preventing wall and a rear end of a main absorbent region. Since the rear flaps can be firmly fixed through the rear pressure-sensitive adhesive layers, the leakage preventing walls hardly move, so that the leakage preventing walls, as well as the rear flaps outside them, can effectively prevent obliquely rearward leakage.
