摘要： A ratchet-like system for winding a rolling door assembly. The ratchet-like system includes a support bracket, a cam, and a biasing device. The support bracket is preferably mounted onto a fixed structure of the rolling door assembly. The cam is pivotally mounted about the support bracket and positioned adjacent to a portion of an overhead shaft of the assembly. The cam is shaped and sized to cooperate with this portion of the overhead shaft between a first position, where the cam allows rotation of the overhead shaft along a first direction, and a second position, where the cam has a surface engaged with the overhead shaft and where further rotation of the overhead shaft along a second direction, opposite to the first direction, is blocked by the cam. The biasing device is used for urging the surface of the cam onto the overhead shaft. The ratchet-like system is particularly useful for adjustably controlling the rotation of the overhead shaft of the rolling door assembly during the winding thereof.

The arrangement includes a line loop connected to a part of the door, a drive wheel, a motor for reversibly rotating the drive wheel and a plurality of guide pulleys for guiding the line loop. First guide pulleys are mounted in the vicinity of the drive wheel and cause a first line section of the line loop to bear on and extend in an omega-shape path around a first portion of the circumference of the drive wheel. Second guide pulleys are mounted in the vicinity of the drive wheel and caused a second line section of the line loop to bear on and extend in an omega-shape path around a second portion of the circumference of the drive wheel.

摘要： Constant balance of a varying load, particularly a window shade or blind, is maintained by providing a lifting force, preferably from a spring, through a mediating mechanism comprising a variable pitch screw assembly, such that the mechanical advantage of the mediating mechanism changes to allow the continuously decreasing spring force to apply an appropriate lifting force at all times. A variable pitch screw thread is formed as grooves in a cylindrical blank. The grooves are engaged by pins in a nut which thereby accomodates the variable pitch of the screw. A compact blind tilting mechanism is also incorporated. The capacity of the mechanism can be increased by linking several screw assemblies.

摘要： A roll-up door for enclosing the doorway in a building. The door comprises a horizontal rotatable drum mounted above the doorway and a flexible door panel is wound on the drum. A pulley is secured to each end of the drum and the first ends of a pair of belts are secured to each pulley and the belts are wound in overlapping relation on pulley so that adjacent convolutions of each belt are separated by convolutions of the other belt. The free end of one belt is dead-ended on the frame, and a counterbalancing weight is attached to the belt intermediate its ends and exerts a counterbalancing force to wind the door panel on the drum. The free end of the second belt is connected to the lower end of the door panel and a pair of springs are connected to the second belt intermediate its ends and the springs exert a tensioning force to stretch the door panel when the door panel is in the closed position.
