    摘要: A guidance system for a beam rider missile, having a novel coded light beam projector at an aiming station, for use by a missile-mounted receiver. The projecting means contains a rotating transparent reticle through which the beam is transmitted, the reticle having an opaque radial portion in a curved "leaf" shape. When the diameter of the projected beam is held constant at the missile distance during flight, the position of the missile in polar coordinate form is given by the relative angular position and duration of the blocked-out portion of the beam received at the missile.

    摘要: An optical remote control arrangement for a projectile, having provided for the guidance of the projectile from a firing base to a target, a sighting arrangement adapted for the sighting of the target along a sighting line. At least one light source is located at the firing base which emits a lamellar-shaped or finned light beam which upon traversing through at least one deflecting device periodically passes over a region containing the sighting line, wherein the light beam is directionally-dependently modulatable and detectable by at least one detector acting upon a demodulator and arranged on the projectile, by means of which control signals are generatable which act on the control devices of the projectile so as to exert an influence over the trajectory of the projectile. The optical remote control arrangement for a projectile has the light source (Laser) connected ahead of a modulator (MOD) sequentially generating pulse sequences of different pulse frequencies within a control period, and which controls the deflection device (ABL) as well as exciting the light source (Laser) for the emission of pusle frequency-modulated beams, through the detector (DT) of the demodulator (DEM) arranged in a projectile (G), consisting of a frequency measuring arrangement (FM), a programmable storage circuit (PROM) connected through the output thereof, and having connected therewith a decoder (DEC) which is associated with the control arrangement (STV).

A repetition reference time of the scanning of the light beam is stored in the flying vehicle before it is launched. In flight, the flying vehicle is guided so as to be on the center of the light beam according to information of a displacement of the flying vehicle from the center of the light beam and information of a displacement angle from a reference axis of the light beam determined from a period of time during which the light receiver receives the light beam.

    摘要: A weapon system using a line of sight guidance system is provided with a missile containing two symmetrically located optical receivers. Information contained in a beam into which a missile is launched is used by the two receivers and associated processor means to derive roll position for the missile. Because the roll signal is derived electronically, mechanical means for determining roll position of the missile in the form of a conventional roll gyro, for example, may be eliminated. Elimination of the mechanical roll gyro from the missile permits much higher launch accelerations than are realistically feasible with missile control systems employing mechanically derived roll data. A processor located in the missile receives its signals from the pair of optical receivers. The processor uses the data from the first receiver to derive the position error of the missile relative to beam center. The data of the second receiver is used by the processor, along with a phase angle reference from the first receiver signal to develop a signal representation of the missile roll angle. The signal representation is further processed, when used with missile control systems requiring the roll reference signal in the form of a linear voltage with missile roll angle, to develop a missile roll angle reference in the form of two ramp voltages, each representing 360.degree. of missile roll angle and being separated in phase by 180.degree..

    摘要: An apparatus for viewing a target and directing a laser guide beam at the target. A movable scanning mirror is employed to direct the laser guide beam at the target and to direct visible light from the target to an optical sight for viewing a corresponding image of the target. The scanning mirror also reflects infrared radiation from the target to an infrared receiver that generates corresponding electrical signals to produce a visible image of the infrared radiation of the target on a cathode ray tube. A symbol generating means is provided to generate an alignment mark for the imaged infrared radiation. The relative position of the alignment mark with respect to the image of the infrared radiation is determined by the position of the movable scanning mirror and the associated axis of the guide beam. The image of the infrared radiation and the associated infrared alignment mark are passed to the optical sight for viewing in order to aid in directing the laser guide beam at the target under conditions of reduced visibility.

    摘要: A laser beam rider guidance system having a launcher based electro-optical subsystem illuminating a light receiver subsystem on board a moving carrier is disclosed. A launcher based laser beam transmitter assembly transmits a synchronization beam, an x scan beam, and a y scan beam to the laser beam receiver subsystem along a line of sight established by a sighting means. The synchronization beam, x scan beam, and y scan beam when received by the receiver subsystem are used in a timing mechanism to measure the x and y scan times from the missile's position to the line of sight; each of these times are multiplied by the scan rate in a microprocessor to determine x and y coordinate direction correction signals necessary to position the carrier on the line of sight to target.
