    摘要: A method of magnetic resonance is provided that uses a frequency swept excitation wherein the acquired signal is a time domain signal is provided. In one embodiment, the method comprises, applying a sweeping frequency excitation and acquiring a time domain signal. The sweeping frequency excitation has a duration and is configured to sequentially excite isochromats having different resonant frequencies. Acquisition of the time domain signal is done during the duration of the sweeping frequency excitation. The time domain signal is based on evolution of the isochromats.

    摘要: A method and a device for on-chip magnetic resonance spectroscopy (FMR, SPR, EPR, ESR, NMR) is proposed. On-chip magnetic resonance spectroscopy may be applied to non-magnetic as well as magnetic materials and to solids, liquids and gases. The method of the present invention is suitable for miniaturised materials analysis such as for example microfluidics. The strength of the method lies in the combination of highly efficient spin excitation near on-chip current wires with very sensitive on-chip magnetic sensors. The method and device also allows to separately detect different types of magnetic particles or molecules.

    摘要: A novel spin resonance microscope is disclosed, the microscope design comprising an integrated evanescent wave probe and scanning tunneling microscope tip. The probe and tip may be either the same structure, or they may be separate structures. The integrated design allows for coherent excitation of precessing electron spin states in the sample such that spin resonance may be detected because the tunneling current is modulated by the spin resonance. Spin resonance may be affected by either adjacent nuclei, or by adjacent electrons. The present apparatus requires significantly reduced power inputs, such that the dead time of the system is short, and relaxation phenomena may be evaluated without swamping the instrument's electronics.

    摘要: The instant invention provides in-vivo methods and apparatus for radiation dosimetry assessment in individuals exposed to potentially harmful radiation, based on measurements in-situ of the teeth. The in vivo dosimetry assessment methods and apparatus utilize electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) techniques; and employ an apparatus comprising an integrated EPR spectrometer system, an ergonomic magnet and a constructed resonator structure. In various aspects, the dosimetry assessment apparatus is configured to be easily portable and withstand potentially adverse mechanical effects of transportation and deployment in the field. The apparatus also is configured with a power supply that is compatible with both conventional AC line voltages and/or other sources of power suitable for field conditions; and may be easily operated by minimally trained technicians to quickly generate a readout of estimated radiation exposure dose.

    摘要: A method for improving the magnetic resonance imaging contrast of a selected portion of a sample. A selected ferrimagnetic constituent is associated with the sample portion, by molecular or biological attachment or by some other means, so that the sample portion is distinguished from other adjacent portions of the sample that do not have the selected ferrimagnetic constituent associated therewith. Alternatively, the sample portion is suspected, but not yet confirmed, to have the selected ferrimagnetic constituent associated with it. Ferromagnetic resonance imaging is performed on the sample portion, and at least one resonance frequency ω0 of the sample portion is provided. At least one material parameter of the sample portion is measured at or near the frequency ω0, with enhanced imaging contrast relative to adjacent portions of the sample that do not have the selected ferrimagnetic constituent in association. Alternatively, the measured value is compared with a corresponding reference value for the selected ferrimagnetic constituent. If (and only if) the measured and corresponding reference values substantially agree, the selected ferrimagnetic constituent is present in association with the selected sample portion. Other parameters of the selected ferrimagnetic consituent can also be measured.

    摘要: Methods for spatially resolve spin resonance detection in a sample of material, with a resolution as small as 0.5 &mgr;m-1 mm. In one embodiment, a coupler having at least one pair of degenerate orthogonal modes provides an evanescent input signal along one coupler axis to the sample, to which a magnetic field is applied, and senses a spin interaction signal along another coupler axis. In another embodiment, an evanescent input signal is applied to the sample along one of two identical transmission line resonators, and a difference of the two resonator signals provides a spin interaction signal. In another embodiment, a polarized laser beam provides an evanescent input signal to the sample, and the spin interaction signal is sensed according to a second beam polarization direction. Certain ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic molecules, such as YIG, can be used to tag selected chemical and biological molecules, using spatially resolved spin resonance detection for interrogation.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method for determining suspended particulate matter accurately and conveniently, a sampling tube for sampling the suspended particulate matter, and a sampling kit for using the collection of the suspended particulate materials. In the present invention, the exhaust emission is passed through a collection material to adsorb the suspended particulate matter in the exhaust emission on it. Then, the amounts of the atoms or the molecular species having unpaired electrons contained in the suspended particulate matter adsorbed on the collection material are determined by using Electron Spin Resonance spectroscopy. The amounts of the suspended particulate matter contained in the exhaust emission may be accurately and conveniently obtained, based on the amounts of the atoms or the molecular species determined above.
