摘要： A surface treating appliance includes a surface treating head, a hose, and a fan unit for generating a flow of fluid. A flexible duct assembly has a first end and a second end moveable relative to the first end between a first position allowing fluid flow between the hose and the fan unit, and a second position allowing fluid flow between the surface treating head and the fan unit. The duct assembly is connected to a first support which is pivotable about a first axis, and to a second support which is pivotable about a second axis spaced from the first axis. A drive mechanism effects the pivoting movement of the supports about their axes to move the second end of the duct assembly between the first and second positions.

A firearm motion sensor is integrated into the firearm and the firearm motion sensor is calibrated to sense a firing axis of the barrel to determine the target of the firearm. A pair of glasses is wearable on a user's face and a glasses motion sensor is integrated into the pair of glasses. The glasses motion sensor is calibrated to sense a viewing axis of the pair of glasses to determine the line of the user. A display unit is integrated into the glasses and the display unit is in communication with the glasses motion sensor. The display unit projects a dot onto a respective one of the lenses to display precisely where the bullet fired from the firearm will strike.

摘要： Complex inorganic titanate pigments with low dopant levels (i.e., less than about 5%) exhibit coloristic and enhanced infrared (IR) reflectance characteristics that make them useful in formulating colors exhibiting high IR reflectivity. This characteristic is becoming increasingly useful as a way to keep exterior surfaces and articles cooler during exposure to direct sunlight. Achieving this can decrease energy (e.g., cooling/air conditioning) consumption and costs. Low-loaded titanates can boost IR reflectivity by 1 to 10% in selected visual color spaces. Paint compositions containing those low loaded titanate pigments and a method for providing a surface with high infrared reflectance utilizing those pigments are also disclosed.

摘要： The presently disclosed subject matter provides an apparatus for trapping insects for purposes of monitoring insect load and in some cases studying the captured insects, and methods for using the same. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to an apparatus for trapping insects once they emerge from the soil, such as corn rootworm beetles and related insects, and methods for assembling and using the same. The apparatus comprises a frame having an open bottom and a removable top panel having at least one plant slot configured to receive a plant and a capture chamber opening configured to receive a capture chamber; a flexible sealing structure configured to seal the plant slot on the top panel; and a securing mechanism configured to secure the flexible sealing structure such that a seal is created about the plant to prevent the egress of the insects about the plant.

摘要： An upright surface treating appliance includes a main body and a stand pivotable relative to the main body between a supporting position and a retracted position. A stand retaining mechanism is provided for releasably retaining the stand in the supporting position, and which includes a locking member pivotably moveable about a first axis to release the stand as it is moved from the supporting position to the retracted position, and about a second axis spaced from the first axis to retain the stand as it is returned to the supporting position. At least one biasing member applies a relatively large first force to the locking member which resists movement thereof about the first axis. To facilitate the return of the stand to its supporting position, the biasing member is arranged to apply a relatively small second force to reset the locking member following movement thereof about the second axis.
