摘要： A lever operated compression latch has an elongated, hook-ended pawl carrying a longitudinal slot, and is cam guided and pin rotated while translated to engage and withdraw from a keeper cup. The compound movement of the pawl includes a lateral translation towards the keeper cup while rotating there into, followed by a lateral withdrawal to exert a compression force between the latch body which is attached to a door and the keeper cup which is attached to a door frame. A series of interconnected links is operated by a lever handle to fold into one another to provide a compact envelope when the latch is closed and to expand outwardly to open the latch and disengage the pawl from the keeper when operated by the lever. Of this series of links, a pair of release links operates in contact with one another, and rotates on respective individual pivot points to extend outwardly from the latch envelope to engage a striker plate portion of the keeper cup. This striker engagement causes the release links to push the latch and the door from a sealing engagement with the keeper and door jamb for a short distance, prior to the latch and the door thereafter being fully opened. This striker engagement of the release links also causes the latch links to fold inwardly which rotates and translates the pawl into keeper engagement and compression. This operation is facilitated with a floating spring having one end operating as a pivot member. A detent engages one of the links to provide a physical indication to the handle lever between the hard closed position and the closed about to open position.

摘要： A pull-turn bolt latch for mounting in an opening in a thin wall, particularly for securing plug-ins, doors or flaps in switch cabinets, comprises a housing that can be secured in a non-round opening in a thin wall, a shaft which is provided with an external thread and which is mounted in the housing so as to be rotatable but fixed with respect to axial displacement, on which external thread a bolt provided with a matching threaded bore hole is guided in the housing so as to be acted upon by pressure by a spring engaging around the shaft such that when the shaft is rotated by hand or by a tool into the stop position at the outer end of the shaft or when the pressure is relaxed the bolt carries out a rotational movement with the shaft covering at least 90°, and in the position remote of the stop position accompanied by axial guidance, such as in an axial slot formed for the bolt in the housing carries out a translational movement in axial direction. The housing has a head part such as a flange which covers the outer edge of the opening in the mounted position, and a body part proceeds from this head part and penetrates the opening. A keeper is mounted in fixed position relative to the doorway. The system further comprises a trigger-actuated latch mechanism including a detent engageable with the keeper for latching the door in its closed position and a trigger operably connected to the detent in a latched position. The mechanism is constructed and configured so that actuation of the trigger causes the detent to move from a latched position in which the detent engages the keeper for latching the door closed to an unlatched position in which the detent is disengaged from the keeper for allowing the door to be opened.

摘要： A window securing device (36) for use in a double-hung sash window assembly having upper and lower sash window frames (14,16) installed for relative overlapping vertical sliding movement, said upper sash frame (14) having a recess into the interior of a vertical facial member of the window. The device (36) includes a housing (38) having a front faceplate opening (51) into a cavity (50) therein and a means for retaining the housing (38) in the recess with the faceplate (42) covering the edges of the recess. A pawl (40) mounted in the cavity (50) of the housing (38) is spring biased into an extended position where the lowermost arresting edge protrudes through the opening (51). In effect, the extended pawl (40) blocks the pathway of a top portion of the lower sash (16) for preventing further upward movement thereof. With the pawl (40) in the extended position, the uppermost contact edge (46) of said pawl (40) is configured for abutting against an inside edge (52) of the top of the opening (51) in said faceplate (42). A substantial portion of the upward force associated with the lifting of the lower sash (16) against the arresting edge is transferred into the upper sash frame for enhanced resistance.

摘要： A latching assembly for the partition gate of livestock trailers allows for the partition gate to be opened from inside the trailer as well as outside the trailer. The outside opening device includes a handle in communication with a latch plate pivotally mounted inside the trailer and which is constantly biased toward a normal lock position adapted to block or retain the swinging edge member of the gate when in a closed position. By pulling on the handle, the plate is displaced toward the trailer wall, against the action of the biasing device, and allows the gate to swing open. An internal handle is rotatably pivotable about its mount on the gate so that when pulled downwardly, causes the latch plate which to be outwardly displaced, out of the way of the gate to allow the gate to swing open.
