    摘要: Disclosed are novel compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which when R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are taken separately, R.sup.1 is selected independently from the group consisting of hydrogen and C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkyl and R.sup.2 is selected independently from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkyl, phenyl and 2-furanyl, and, when taken together with the carbon atom to which they are attached R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 form a C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group; R.sup.3 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkyl, allyl, phenyl, 3-halophenyl and 3,4-dihalophenyl; and R.sup.4 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkyl, allyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, halophenyl, tolyl, anisolyl, nitrophenyl, 3,4-dihalophenyl, 1-naphthyl, p-toluene sulfonyl, trihalomethylphenyl and 2,6-dinitro-4-trihalomethylphenyl. These compounds have herbicidal activity.

    摘要: A method of protecting plant life from injury due to frost or sub-freezing temperatures which comprises applying to the plant an effective, but non-phytotoxic amount, having regard to the plant being treated of a compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is lower-alkyl;R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of:A. lower-alkyl, andB. 2-hydroxy alkyl of 3 to 18 carbon atoms; andA is selected from the group consisting of:A. alkyl of 3 to 13 carbon atoms,B. 2-hydroxy-lower alkyl,C. lower alkenyl,D. substituted phenyl, substituted by substituents selected from the group consisting of:I. p-nitro,Ii. halo, andIii. lower alkoxy, ##STR2## wherein R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of:I. hydrogen,Ii. alkyl of 2 to 18 carbon atoms,Iii. substituted phenyl,Iv. benzyl,V. lower-alkoxy carbonyl, andVi. 2-hydroxy-lower alkyl; and ##STR3## wherein R.sub.5 is lower alkyl;R.sub.6 is selected from the group consisting of:I. alkyl of 3 to 8 carbon atoms,Ii. 2-hydroxy lower alkyl, andZ .sup.- is an agriculturally acceptable anion.
