摘要: A seam is provided for a papermaker's felt for use in a papermaker's machine. The seam joins a felt having at least four layers of machine direction yarns in which at least two layers at each end of the felt are finished in loops, and the remaining layers are finished with or without loops. The loops of the ends to be joined are mated, and a pintle is inserted to close the seam.

摘要: A joinable paper machine felt assembly includes a plurality of spaced first and second cross-threads, the cross-threads being longitudinally spaced and each first cross-thread being laterally spaced from a second cross-thread for thereby defining a plurality of cross-thread pairs. An end two of the cross-thread pairs define first and second fabric ends. A plurality of first and second alternatingly disposed and directly adjacently positioned lengthwise threads bind the cross-threads into a fabric. Each first lengthwise thread forms a first loop extending over the threads of the cross-thread pair at one of the fabric ends and immediately thereafter each first lengthwise thread extends back into the fabric and alternatingly first crossing between and then passing over the associated cross-threads of the cross-thread pairs. Each second lengthwise thread forms a seam loop extending beyond one of the fabric ends and thereafter each second lengthwise thread extends back into the fabric and between but not being crossed between the cross-threads of the cross-thread pair at the associated end and immediately thereafter alternatingly first passing over and then crossing between the associated cross-threads of the cross-thread pairs. The seam loops are aligned in order to permit receipt of a slip-in joining means.

摘要: A papermakers fabric having surface floats on both the paper surface and the non-paper contacting surface for improved sheet contact area and improved abrasion resistance. The fabric also includes a plurality of stuffer pick receiving sheds defined by warp yarns of non-circular cross section used to weave the fabric. In a preferred embodiment, the warp yarns are of generally rectangular cross section with rounded corners. Each of these sheds may receive a stuffer pick, the construction of which will be determined by the permeability required in the finished fabric, while the warp and weft yarns used to define the fabric remain unchanged. The warp ends of the fabric terminate in a pin seam made up of a number of enlarged seam loops which are created when a select number of the warp yarns of non-circular cross section are symmetrically rewoven into the fabric.

摘要: A novel low bulk seam is disclosed for use in paper making machine fabrics, such as dryer felts. The seam is particularly adapted for use with multi-filament yarns which comprise multi-ply fabrics. A novel method for producing this seam is disclosed which comprises the insertion and adhesion of a seaming coil, the removal of picks in adjacent fabric areas, the folding and overlapping of such areas, the creation of a warp fringe, and the pulling of portions of that fringe into and through portions of the fabric body fasteners to create a stitchless seam providing substantially uniform thickness and air permeability across the full fabric width. A durable, reliable, non-marking seam is accordingly provided for use with spun, mono-filament and/or multi-filament fabrics.

摘要: The disclosure is of a seam construction for joining the ends of woven papermakers felt or dryer felts, wet felts forming fabrics characterized in part by a first system of lengthwise yarns in one layer and a second system of lengthwise yarns positioned above the first system. The seam comprises looped ends of the lengthwise yarns projecting from the respective ends of the fabric, and positioned to interleaf with the opposite end loops. Pins are placed through the interleafed loops so as to provide joinder in the two systems, respectively, of the felt or fabric.

摘要: A papermaking felt includes at least one base fabric composed of a MD yam material in the felt running direction (MD) and a CD yarn material in the felt crossing direction (CD) and having MD end regions and CD end regions, at least one of the MD end regions and the CD end regions are overlapped with each other, the entire overlapped portion is welded without removing a part or all of the MD yarn material or the CD yarn material in the overlapped portion, and when the average thickness of the welded portion of each base fabric is x (mm) and the average thickness of the material portion of each base fabric is y (mm), the relationship between x and y of the at least one base fabric satisfies the following formula (1):

    0.5≤x/y≤0.95.
