摘要： A personal assisting device that helps a person return to the standing position after they have been seated on a toilet. The assisting device is adapted for attachment to almost any toilet. The toilet's seat is removed, the assisting device is slid around the toilet's bowl, and the seat is re-attached to the device. A control switch is provided that allows the user to move the device's flexible chair frame from the seated position to the raised position. When the flexible chair frame is in the raised position, the user is assisted to the standing position. Two electric motors are used to move the device between the seated and raised positions, in the preferred embodiment.

摘要： A toilet assembly that includes a bowl, a toilet seat member mounted on the bowl for movement between raised and lowered positions, and a tank mounted on the bowl. The tank is adapted to contain water for flushing the toilet and has a flushing apparatus for causing the water in the tank to flow into the bowl. The toilet assembly also includes a hydraulic closure apparatus mounted on the toilet. The apparatus includes a member movable relative to the toilet and engageable with the seat member such that movement of the member in one direction moves the seat member toward the lowered position. Movement of the seat member toward the raised position moves the member in an opposite direction. The apparatus also includes a cylinder and a piston slidable inside the cylinder. The piston divides the cylinder into first and second chambers and is connected to the member such that movement of the member in the opposite direction moves the piston in the direction minimizing the volume of the second chamber. The apparatus further includes a spring positioned in the second chamber. The spring is compressed by the piston when the piston moves in the direction minimizing the volume of the second chamber. The apparatus also further includes a conduit having one end in communication with the second chamber and a second end positioned in the water in the tank. The toilet assembly further includes a valve arrangement for closing the second end of the conduit when the tank is relatively full of water and for opening the second end of the conduit when the toilet is flushed.

摘要： An apparatus is provided for lowering and raising a person onto and up from a seated position particularly in conjunction with a commercial or residential commode. The apparatus is suitable as an attachable adaptation to existing commercial or residential commodes. The apparatus is attached directly to such a standard commode by using a pair of studs disposed to fit into holes through the commode that are used to attach commode seats. These studs are securely attached to the commode. Air pressure delivered from a remote source extends hydraulic cylinders in a manner to provide a user with the ability to be raised to a comfortable dismount position from a seat or to be reclined to a comfortable seated position on a commode. The individual will be moved down or up to a comfortable semi-standing position because a commode seat attached to the apparatus is disposed to be at an angled position to facilitate a user mounting or dismounting the apparatus.

摘要： An apparatus and method for foot actuating a toilet by providing a foot pedal having an enhoused cable extending therefrom. The cable is attached inside the toilet tank to a flushing means within the tank. Upon a user stepping down on the pedal, dual components of the pedal provide for the amount of cable within the foot pedal to be increased by a factor of two relative to the pedal travel distance. This in turn provides for the cable inside of the tank to be decreased by such amount for lifting a weight and actuating the internal flushing means within the toilet tank. Upon removing the user's foot from the foot pedal, the foot pedal, cable and weight are automatically reset to a starting position allowing the toilet to be reset to its original position for reuse.
