    摘要： There is provided an improved automatic recirculating duplicator adapted for duplicating from a master or plate selectively onto one or both sides of paper sheets. It is characterized by a single printing couple. Sheets are fed from a paper table to a printing nip between a printing cylinder and an impression cylinder for printing on the first side and, through operation of a controlled gripping and stripping apparatus, the sheets are turned about the impression cylinder for collection with the printed sides down on a paper tray. The paper tray is then shifted to the feeding location normally occupied by the paper table, and the gripping and stripping apparatus is reset for feeding the sheets, now printed on both sides, directly to an exterior receiver. When it is desired to print sheets on one side only, the mechanism is set for feeding sheets from the paper table, but manual controls permit resetting the gripping and stripping mechanism to feed sheets directly to the receiver instead of inverting them and sending them to the paper tray.

    摘要： Apparatus for handling sheets of material in which the sheets are received at a pick-up station and conveyed to a discharge station by means of a carrier, in combination with means to maintain a differential of pressure between the sheets and a plenum chamber beneath which a flight of the carrier operates. The invention also contemplates means to discharge the sheets at the discharge station comprising a stripper which enters between the sheet of material being conveyed and the plenum, thus to admit air under atmospheric pressure between the two, permitting the sheet to drop off. The invention contemplates also the use of means to release the vacuum on the sheet of material being conveyed by momentarily shutting off the suction fan from the plenum chamber, permitting the sheet to drop.

    摘要： A sieve roll for use in paper drying apparatus wherein the tube of a shaft assembly carries two reinforced end walls whose innermost portions are welded to the tube and whose outermost portions are welded to the respective ends of elongated strips. The strips are disposed in planes which include the axis of the shaft assembly and they form a cylindrical sidewall spacedly surrounding the shaft assembly between the end walls. The space between the end walls receives rings which surround the shaft assembly, and have peripheral recesses for the strips. Each second ring is welded to the shaft assembly and to the strips, and the remaining rings are welded only to the strips. The cross section of each end wall is a right-angled triangle.

    摘要： An adhesive paper pick-off apparatus for lifting and guiding a sheet of paper from a supply stack or the like or adhereing to a photoreceptor layer of an electrostatographic copying machine. The apparatus includes an adhesive tape supply which may be housed in a cartridge having a wall with one or more open windows. The apparatus is positioned relative to the supply stack or photoreceptor layer so that the exposed side of the paper comes in contact with one side of the window. The apparatus includes means for pressure contacting the sticky side of the tape to the paper from the cartridge through the window for lifting the paper from the supply stack or the photoreceptor layer and the like. Preferably, the window is screened with a mesh of fine wires or filaments with openings large enough to allow contact of the tape to the paper, but small enough to prevent the paper from deforming into the openings and is of a design that helps the release of the adhesive tape from the paper when the tape is retracted. Preferably, the wires or filaments are made of a nonsticky substance such as teflon or silicon rubber so that the adhesive tape does not stick to them and they do not collect lint from the paper. The apparatus is provided with means for advancing the adhesive tape supply to bring a fresh portion of the sticky side of the adhesive tape as a used portion begins to loose its stickiness due to the lint collected from the surfaces of the sheets.
