摘要： An electrostatic reproduction machine with a photosensitive member on which latent electrostatic images of an original being reproduced are made following charging of the member. A transparent platen supports the original with one or more lamps being provided to flash illuminate the original resting on the platen. The light image produced is transmitted by an optical system to an image frame of a moving photosensitive member to discharge the same selectively in accordance with the original. A movable optical system is provided to permit the light image to be projected onto and move with the moving photosensitive member to reduce image smear.The photosensitive member includes a perforation to define the location of the image frame. Exposure of the image frame with illumination of the flash lamps is timed by sensing an image of the perforation at the platen.

摘要： An electrophotographic copier with an endless photoconductor belt adapted to move around a cylindrical drum and a flat platen. A vacuum column is positioned between the cylindrical drum and the platen. The vacuum column creates a concave bend in the photoconductor, enabling a latent image of a document to be placed on a flat run of the photoconductor belt, and enabling charging, developing, transferring and cleaning of the photoconductor belt to occur about a curved run of the photoconductor belt.

摘要： A printing plate making attachment for a graphic art camera taking the place of the ordinary silver halide film cartridge back. The attachment includes an endless belt of flexible electrophotograhic film that is charged by a source of corona, exposed and then rotated to a location where an ink-receptive toner in liquid form is applied to the resulting latent image under bias conditions. A supply of plate material such as paper, aluminum, plastic or other flexible substrate material is included and a single sheet of the plate material is fed into the nip of a pressure roller engaging against the endless belt, causing the toned image to be transferred from the belt to the plate material. The plate material containing the toned image is then fed past a fixing station and thereafter dispensed as a completed plate. The plate is suitable for us in an offset printing press.

摘要： An electrophotographic apparatus having an endless electrophotosensitive belt transportable past a plurality of work stations and including paper supply and transport means and a unitary control circuit which actuates work stations and other apparatus elements in a required succession and at frequencies which vary in accordance with copy magnification required. The control circuit itself is actuated in response to signals supplied by one of several rotatory switching means which are rotated synchronously with the electrophotosensitive belt, thereby ensuring matching of belt and apparatus element action.The apparatus may further comprise detection switches which are disposed at various points along the path of travel of copy paper through the apparatus, and are actuable by passage of a sheet of copy paper, and the successive actuation of which is a necessary condition for continued actuation of the control circuit and sequential operation of work stations. Upon the occurrence of a paper jam and consequent failure of a sheet of copy paper to reach and actuate a detection switch, apparatus operation is stopped and a lamp or similar warning means indicative of the location of the paper jam is activated.

摘要： An electrophotographic copying machine employs a method of contact transfer of developed electrostatic images. A moving photoconductive surface is charged and exposed to a pattern of light and shade as done in known electrophotographic processes, and the latent image is developed with a liquid developer which carries a toner which is tacky-that is, one that has adhesive properties. The developed image with the toner in tacky state is contacted with sheet material such as paper, which has greater affinity for the tacky toner than the photoconductive surface from which the image is transferred. After the image is transferred to the sheet material the toner quickly loses its tackiness and dries to a hard scuff-resistant surface. Transfer of the tacky toner may be facilitated by heating the sheet material before contact is made between it and the developed image.

摘要： An electrophotographic copying machine utilizes an endless belt having a conductive film and carrying a photosensitive surface thereon. The photosensitive surface comprises a thin evaporated film of a non-crystalloid selenium formed on at least a portion of the film and an organic semiconductor film deposited on the evaporated film. The endless belt also includes means for indicating exposure frames and the endless belt is positioned so that the photosensitive surface receives the image by a detector mechanism which senses the exposure frames. The apparatus also includes a movable frame which is detachably mounted to the copying machine for tensioning, aligning, and maintaining the belt flat.

摘要： A photoelectrostatic copying apparatus equipped with a reusable continuous belt coated with an organic photoconductive medium adapted to move in an orbital path. A series of processing stations are located adjacent the path of movement of the belt so that, in sequence, it moves past charging, exposing, developing and transfer stations producing a copy or multiple copies on plain paper. The organic photoconductive medium is reusable. It is ready immediately after a developed image is transferred to the copy sheet to receive a new image without preliminary mechanical or electrical cleaning of the photoconductive medium.
