摘要： A washing machine soap and chemical dispenser having a housing bottom, a top having a plurality of water inlets, and a pull tray for receiving and dispensing soap and chemicals during a washing operation. The top has a plurality of passageways communicating between the water inlets and the compartments and a flush water passageway communicating about sides of the dispenser top adjacent the outer perimeter thereof for flushing the housing bottom and tray with water free of soap and chemicals during each washing operation. The dispenser further includes at least one flush passageway having an outlet port for directing flushing water between rear walls of the tray and housing.

摘要： A latching and locking mechanism for a door includes a locating pin passing through a portion of a door frame and a handle. A tapered portion formed at an end of the locating pin mates with a tapered opening formed in a casing of the machine to position the door frame relative to the casing. A cam surface defined on the casing engages a latching pin connected to the locating pin and extending radially therefrom adjacent to the tapered portion such that the latching pin pulls the door frame toward the closed position when the handle is rotated.

摘要： A clothes washing machine having a dispenser for directing chemical additives, such as fabric softener, bleach, or the like, into the wash water during a washing operation. The dispenser includes a siphoning device having a water inlet, an upstanding siphoning tube, and a chemical additive receptacle about the siphoning tube. Upon the direction of water into the siphon cup from the inlet, water is directed both downwardly into the siphon cup for raising the liquid level above the top of the siphoning tube while simultaneously being directed through a plurality of relatively small substantially horizontal passageways that impart a plurality of pressurized liquid flow streams or sprays across an upper portion of the liquid within the siphon cup for further intermixing the water and chemical additive and for preventing the buildup of chemical additives on side walls of the siphon cup.

摘要： A washing machine having a chemical dispenser for dispensing chemicals into the wash water during a washing operation. The dispenser includes a dispenser body having a water inlet and a cap having a plurality of hose connecting ports to which chemical supply hoses are individually attached for enabling the direction of chemical into the dispenser chamber simultaneous with the introduction of water from said water inlet. The chemical supply hoses are connectable to said cap at a location remote from said body, and the cap is removable and replaceable in said dispenser body without removal of the hose from the connecting ports.

摘要： A laundry machine having a malfunction detection system for detecting when an obstructing item protrudes outwardly from a perforated tumbler of the machine beyond a predetermined amount during rotation of the tumbler and for detecting when the drive belt for the tumbler is either broken or dislodged from its drive pulleys. In response to either malfunction, a control device is actuated for automatically shutting down operation of the machine. The obstruction detection system includes a cable disposed in closely spaced relation to an outer perimeter of the tumbler for engagement by an obstructing item extending outwardly from the perforated tumbler beyond the predetermined spacing of the cables. In the illustrated embodiment, the obstruction detection system and the drive belt malfunction detection system utilize a common malfunction detection switch and control circuitry.
