摘要： A dispensing applicator includes a container configured to contain a fluid, the container including an inlet end having an opening and an outlet end, the container containing a predetermined volume of fluid; an attachment member received within and secured to the container, the attachment member including a length portion including a frangible section, the frangible section including a tongue element; an end face member secured within the opening of the inlet end, the end face member defining an opening; a sealing member that fluidically seals the opening of the end face member; and a fracture anvil having an interior interference geometry configured to slidaby receive the tongue element during an assembly and wherein a rotational movement of the fracture anvil relative to the tongue element causing the interior geometry to interfere with said tongue element such that fluid is released from the container while said tongue element remains attached to the frangible section.

摘要： A hand-held dispensing applicator includes a source of fluid, a frangible applicator tip attached to the fluid source, and an absorbent member attached to the frangible applicator tip. When broken, fluid flows from the source to the absorbent member, whereby the fluid is applied and spread on a surface. In one embodiment, the dispensing applicator comprises a support element permanently connected to the fluid source, a relatively rigid tongue element extending outwardly of the support element, and a frangible region there between. Optionally, the tongue element comprises ribs for reinforcing the tongue element to resist unintentional breaking of the frangible region. Also optionally, the applicator tip includes a semi-permeable or non-permeable partial shield member disposed around the frangible region to control the speed and direction of the dispersion of the fluid in the absorbent member. Adaptive embodiments allow the generation of designs applicable to a particular medical purpose.

摘要： A scrub brush-sponge includes a base provided with a recessed peripheral lip, which has a plurality of attenuated regions configured to minimize the resistance of the base to external bending forces, and a sponge coupled to the base and made from polymeric material, which may have as low a PPI as 10. The sponge is configured so that it can effectively surround at least a substantial peripheral portion of instruments or portions to be treated with fluid, which is contained within the sponge, without applying substantial external forces to the base. A flexible layer made of woven or non-woven bonded polymeric fibers is on a scrubbing surface of the sponge and provides an enhanced scrubbing feature. An abrasive may be included on the flexible layer to further enhance the scrubbing feature.
