    摘要： Method and apparatus for detecting tone signals selectively occurring at plural discrete frequencies. The disclosed embodiment is used in conjunction with tape record-playback apparatus which records certain tone signals at a record-playback tape speed and which is required to detect these tone signals at relatively greater fast-forward or fast-reverse speeds. Separate time periods are established bearing a relation to the respective periods of each tone frequency to be detected at fast tape speed. The occurrence of tone signal pulses in a number of consecutively-occurring corresponding time periods, each such pulse corresponding to a cycle of the tone frequency, provides an indication of playback occurrence of the desired particular tone signal.

    摘要： Apparatus for storing a quantity of a web such as magnetic recording tape and for transferring such tape to and from a cassette or like container. The apparatus provides a receptacle for receiving a tape cassette and includes a rotary hub onto which a partial or complete quantity of the tape in the cassette can be wound. The tape storage hub can be provided with a removable sleeve onto which the tape is wound, with the sleeve being sufficiently flexible to assume a relatively flattened position when removed from the hub.

    摘要： Apparatus providing indexing of transcribed information recorded on a recording medium. Information denoting end of dictated message, special instructions of the dictator, or other details, is recorded directly on the recording medium rather than being marked on a separate index member by the dictator. An index member not requiring predetermined beginning and end indications is traversed by transcription apparatus concurrently with a traverse of the tape or other recording medium, and a visual indication is applied to the index member corresponding to each element of information previously recorded by the dictator. When this preparation of the index member by the transcriber has been completed, a reference mark is positioned adjacent the index member mark which indicates the beginning of dictation to be transcribed; the index member then moves relative to the indicating mark as transcription progresses to indicate the transcription relative to the previously-prepared index member.

    摘要： Adapter apparatus to be received within the cassette holder of a conventional cassette record-playback apparatus to permit miniature tape cassettes to be used in the record-playback apparatus, and record-playback apparatus useful with said adapter apparatus. The adapter apparatus is configured to be received within the location normally occupied by a tape cassette of standard size and configuration, and includes a receptacle into which a miniature tape cassette may be placed. The adapter includes drive apparatus which is selectively engaged to be driven by the capstan and pressure roller of the record-playback apparatus and which drives the forward takeup reel of the miniature tape cassette. One or more magnetic heads are provided in the adapter apparatus for engagement with the tape carried in the miniature cassette.
