摘要: A prechamber spark plug for an internal combustion engine with the following features: a body with an external thread at its front end for screwing the spark plug into the engine; the external thread has a center line and begins with a thread start at the front end; the body has a passage in which an insulator is fastened and a center electrode protrudes from the front end of this insulator; at the front end of the body, a prechamber-forming cap is provided, which delimits a prechamber and shields the center electrode from a combustion chamber of the engine after the spark plug has been installed in the engine; the cap has at least one opening, which has a predefined orientation in relation to the thread start and is oriented obliquely to the center line of the external thread so as to permit a gas exchange between the prechamber and the space outside the prechamber.

摘要: A pre-chamber spark plug having a shell, an insulator disposed at least partially within the shell, a center electrode disposed at least partially within the insulator, a ground electrode forming a spark gap with the center electrode, and a pre-chamber cap connected to the shell and forming a pre-chamber. The pre-chamber cap includes two or more openings that are configured so that at least one inflowing fuel-air mixture jet is directed to a pre-chamber wall gap so as to flush out or remove gas from a previous ignition cycle. The two or more openings are angled so that a first inflowing fuel-air mixture jet of a first opening does not intersect with a second inflowing fuel air-mixture jet of a second opening.

摘要: A pre-chamber spark plug for an internal combustion engine having a surface discharge spark gap that is generally located at a rearward end of a pre-chamber and is configured so that sparking components will have minimal electrode obstruction and promote unhindered gas exchange between the pre-chamber and a main combustion chamber. According to one embodiment, the surface discharge spark gap includes a radial sparking portion where a majority of the sparking occurs in a generally radial direction. According to another embodiment, the surface discharge spark gap includes both a radial sparking portion and an axial sparking portion so that sparking occurs in both radial and axial directions, respectively.

摘要: A system composed of a water sleeve and a spark plug for an internal combustion engine. The spark plug has a supply passage, a center conductor, an insulator surrounding the center conductor, and a metallic body surrounding the insulator. A center electrode and at least one ground electrode form a spark air gap. In the region of its front end, the spark plug has an external thread for screwing the spark plug into a component of the internal combustion engine and has at least one discharge opening of the supply passage. The spark plug, at its front end, has, attached to the body, a sleeve that contains the external thread; the body has, on its outside, at least one groove that forms a section of the supply passage; and the sleeve has a heat conducting section that contains at least a part of the external thread and that is in contact with the body and covers at least portions of the groove.

摘要: A prechamber spark plug for a gas-powered internal combustion engine having: a metallic body, an insulator, a center conductor connected to a center electrode, a ground electrode, and a cap that is attached to a front end of the body and forms a prechamber. The prechamber can be subdivided into a front part and a back part by an imaginary separating plane that is perpendicular to the center conductor at an end face of the center electrode. The front part of the prechamber is located on the front side of the separating plane, and the back part is located inside the body on the back side of the separating plane so that the volume of the back part is larger than the volume of the front part. Apart from its connection to the front part of the prechamber, the back part is closed in a gas-tight manner.
