摘要: A lock assembly for preventing theft of an electronic mobile device (EMD) is configured to engage a slot formed in the 2 mm thick outer wall of the EMD. The slot has top and bottom outwardly-flaring side walls extending away from the opening. The lock body supports first and second locking elements, each of which is configured to be insertable into the slot and has a top wall and a bottom wall that are complementary in shape to the top wall and the bottom wall the of the slot. The first and second locking elements cooperate structurally to become wedged inside the slot in manner that prevents separation of the lock body from the EMD while the first and second locking elements are positioned inside the slot.

摘要: A security kit is provided that enables retrofitting a mobile electronic device with a theft preventing security slot. The slot allows locking therein a lock head, a cable of which is attachable to an immovable object. The security kit includes a security bracket having an attachment plate with a screw hole formed therein, and having a thickened portion having a security slot formed therein. A fork-shaped screw extracting tool is used to extract from the mobile electronic device one of the body screws and then re-use it to attach the security bracket to the housing of the electronic device.

A cable is coupled to the lock body to enable tethering the EMD to an immovable object, to prevent its theft.

摘要: A security strip defining a security slot and attachable to a mobile electronic device has a strip body shaped as a flat and thin, strip-shaped component with a length, a width and a thickness dimension, wherein the length of the strip body is at least ten times times the thickness dimension of the strip body. A security slot body protrudes from the strip body and has a thickened portion thicker than the thickness dimension of the strip body and defining therein a security slot in which a locking element of a locking device is receivable, the security slot body extending along the one of the side walls of the mobile device. The security strip includes at least one cutout that enables the security strip to extend generally in line of one of the front and rear legs of the mobile device so that at least one of the front or rear legs is at least partially locatable in the at least one cutout in the strip.
