A device for driving and guiding a rapier of a weaving machine, comprises a rotatable drive wheel (1) provided for driving a rapier rod (14) in a back and forth movement and a guide channel formed by adjustable guide bodies (10), (11) in order to guide the said rapier rod (14) according to a guide path in co-operation with the drive wheel (1). The guide bodies (10), (11) are part of a guide unit (9) which, as a whole, is adjustable in order to modify the distance between the guide path and the rotation shaft (2) of the drive wheel (1), and where the drive wheel (1) is continuously adjustable in the longitudinal direction of its shaft (2). With this device the clearances of the rapier rod with respect to the drive wheel can be performed easily, rapidly and with great precision, so that this device is able to work with a minimum development of heat and wear.

A shed-forming device for individually controlling heddles for warp threads of a weaving device has hook elements connected to the heddles for the warp threads. Upward and downward moving knives are provided to which the hook elements can hook onto. The hook elements are provided with spring elements and actuators connected to the spring elements allow the hook elements to selectively hook or not hook onto the upward and downward moving knives. Each hook element also has at least three spring elements in the form of spring legs. At least two spring elements are made as double laminated springs. At least two of the spring legs are provided with hooks for working together with the moving knives. One or more actuators are provided which selectively influence the various spring elements. Retaining hooks are provided for at least a part of the spring elements in a position determined by an actuator.

A coupling device allows for the rapid releasable connection of harness cords to lifting cords on weaving machines. A first coupler is connected to lifting cords and a second coupler is connected to harness cords. An intermediate coupler is removable connected to the first and second couplers. The intermediate coupler allows for quick and easy, manual or automatic, coupling and decoupling of the first and second elements. The second coupling elements and the intermediate elements are adapted so that only the connection therebetween is breakable when pulling forces are exerted thereon.

A Jacquard machine for weaving face-to-face fabrics consisting of a bottom fabric and a top fabric between which pile threads are stretched, incorporating two systems, one for each fabric. For each pile thread, the machine incorporates a selection element with hooks under the action of knives, a cord which is connected to one of the hooks, a lifting device, and a grate which is driven together with one of the knives. The invention enables pile warp threads to be taken into more than three different positions with the aid of a single selection element, thereby reducing the cost and size of the Jacquard machine.

Lancet holder for face-to-face weaving loom, comprising a slat-shaped section (1) onto which lancets (2) can be pushed. A comb (4) with teeth (8) lies directly in front of section (1). Each lancet (2)--extending in the warp direction--can be situated between two teeth (8), and the width of the space between two teeth (8) is slightly greater than the thickness of a lancet (2), so that they remain with their flanks at right angles to the section (1). Section (1) and part of the lancets (2) pushed onto it may be enclosed by a surrounding wall (9), (10) which is rounded off and smooth along the outside, and the comb (4) is set up along the front open side of said surrounding wall, so that the lancets (2) can extend from the enclosed space between the teeth (8).
